A Sudden Meeting

"My life was going well until I met him!"

It was summer season.

In our town, this time of year would almost always lead to fights, of course between the boys from our neighborhood and those from other neighborhoods. All these incidents had become very common to us. And me?! I just prayed that this would stop.

I'm Hana Yamaguchi, from Yokohama, Tokyo. Sometimes I come to Tokyo with my family, and there's a lot of fighting around Tokyo at that time.

That was the time when we met.

One day I was very late returning from work. Yokohama is quite a distance from Tokyo, About an hour's drive. I thought of getting off the station and taking a taxi, but when I came out of the station, I saw that there was not even a single person there, let alone a taxi. I sometimes come home late, but this has never happened before. I was afraid to walk alone, but there was nothing I could do, the only fear was that some gang would come and start a fight again.

Suddenly, as I was walking, I felt as if someone was following me. My heartbeat suddenly increased. I didn't know what to do, whether to look back or run. I just wanted to get home as quickly as possible. While thinking about all of this, a voice suddenly came from behind.

Unknown: "Hey, what are you doing here alone at this time?"

Thinking everything was fine, I turned around and looked back. And it felt like time stood still, and our eyes were on each other. At that moment, I couldn't think of anything to say. And then suddenly, someone from behind gave the boy a hard push. By the time I moved away, he was on top of me. Some boys were running away from there. I couldn't understand what to do or not to do. Then he quickly got up and said — "Are you okey? Sorry, you're not hurt anywhere, are you?!"

Then I said — " Amm... No! I'm totally fine."

Then he extended his hand towards me. Just as I was about to grab his hand, about 50 or 60 people appeared there with bikes. Before I understood anything, the boy grabbed my hand and we started running away. It looks like they were going to have another fight, the boy was seemed very scared, and I thought maybe he didn't like these things at all, just like me. But I don't think it's okay for boys to be so timid. Anyway, he saved my life this time. After coming a long way, I stopped, And said— "Why are we running?? "

Then he shouted, "Don't you know what was happening there? Stupid girl, who comes for a night walk at this time? What would have happened if I hadn't arrived on time?"

I shouted too— " Oh mister, I didn't come for a night walk at all. I was at work and I'm just returning ~ (***What an idiot. He's shouting even more than he helped.)

He stayed for a while.

Do you think you're the only one who's scared here? I'm scared too, you're not the only one."

Then he said, (*A little surprised)— "Scared? And, Me?! I had to come all this way just for you...

Before he could finish speaking, we heard a call from behind.

A boy leaned against his bike and said, "Hey dude, what are you doing here? We have been waiting for you since then. And look, you are here, gossiping with a girl... Huh?! "

*That boy looked like a high school student. Wearing a Loose black jeans, a black leather jacket, a white t-shirt and A pair of black shiny shoes. Seems like a member of A MAFIA GANG!
