"We still have no idea why we are being attacked by such beings said to be extinct..." Elder Gregor intervened during the meeting. I had conducted a gathering with the elders of my pack and all my generals after discovering the dragons' camp that had been set in the farther region.
They were soon to attack again, probably preparing for their next strike.
"We lost half our soldiers in the last battle..." one of the generals spoke. "I think we should evacuate instead," he added.
A silence echoed after, followed by slow whispers of some agreeing among the generals.
"Enough..." I cut in sharply. "Fleeing now doesn't mean they wouldn't come after us..." I said firmly.
I had no idea why they would attack now. What was she trying to say—the woman in the shadow?
All this happening just because they wanted Elara. Her bloodline.
Even still clueless of what this was all about, I knew better than to let them have her. Who knows what is going to happen next?
