===September 1 1994===
Harry and Hermione are sitting in their normal compartment, Hermione nestled against Harry's side. Both of them are reading one of their textbooks.
How did you beat us here?" Ginny asks as she enters the compartment, Luna and Amanda follow behind her. Loki sits on Amanda's shoulder.
"We arrived at the station 30 minutes ago." Harry answers.
"How was your honeymoon?" Ginny asks.
"Tell us everything!" Luna insists.
"Well, maybe not EVERYTHING." Amanda says and they all laugh.
"We'll answer all your questions once everyone's here." Hermione says. "That way we don't have to go over everything two or three times."
Loki jumps off Amanda's shoulder. She jumps up into Hermione's lap. 'I missed you Mum.'
'I missed you too.' Hermione says.
'You smell like Dad.' Loki says. 'Are you mates now?'
'I suppose that word fits as good as any.'
'Are you going to have kittens?'
Hermione chuckles. 'We call them babies, and we usually have them one at a time. Though twins do run in my family.'
'You didn't answer my question.' Loki says.
'You can listen to our conversation, I'm sure that question will be asked.' Hermione replies.
'Okay.' Loki replies.
"Hey everybody." Neville says as he and Hannah enter the compartment breaking Hermione out of her conversation.
With space getting tight Hermione moves onto Harry's lap, their textbooks vanish as Harry wraps his arms around her. 'Last time you sat on my lap, fewer clothes were involved.' Harry thinks to Hermione.
Hermione grins slightly. 'Oh hush!'
Neville sits, Hannah gets on his lap. "You two look content." Hannah says.
Hermione nods. "We are."
"Sorry we're late. " Ron says as he enters the compartment. "Lavender's sister insisted we help her find her friends since we wouldn't let her come to our compartment."
"Get on in and sit." Ginny says."Once we're all together Hermione's going to answer our questions."
Ron sits, then Lavender sits on his lap. "I think we're all together now." Lavender says.
"Room for one more?" Draco says from the doorway.
"Come squeeze in." Amanda says as she pats the spot next to her.
Draco sits and Amanda takes his hand. "Did we miss something?" Hermione asks.
"We're trying to make it work." Amanda says. "He's my boyfriend now."
"Good for you two!" Hermione says.
"Quit changing the subject." Ginny says. "Tell us about your honeymoon."
Hermione pulls out her wand and casts a privacy charm on the compartment. "I need everyone to swear that not a word of what is said here is discussed with anyone outside this compartment, that includes all parents."
After a quiet moment, everyone swears, they all glow slightly. "Last year I discovered that Harry had a piece of Voldemort's soul inside his scar. So on our wedding night we performed a ritual that bound our souls together. The completion of the ritual forced the piece of the soul out of Harry. I had placed a diamond above his scar before the ritual, the piece of soul was forced into the diamond creating a phylactery."
"Wait, Voldemort is a lich?" Amanda asks.
"Yes," Hermione answers. "We suspect that he split his soul into several pieces called horcruxes in an attempt to live forever. We plan on using the piece we have to find the other pieces."
"So are there benefits to this soul binding?" Lavender asks.
"Yes, we are now telepathically linked, and can use each other's magical core and abilities if needed. Also going through the ritual reduced my chances of getting pregnant until after my next cycle exponentially."
"So you're not pregnant?" Hannah asks.
"The odds are against it." Hermione answers.
"So how was the Quidditch World Cup?" Harry asks, changing the subject.
"Wait, you didn't hear?" Ron asks.
"Hear what?" Harry asks.
"Death Eaters attacked during the championship." Ron says.
"What?!" Both Harry and Hermoine jump.
"We weren't in any danger thankfully." Lavender says. "They attacked an area far away from us, but dozens were injured, thankfully nobody was killed."
"I'm certainly glad none of you were hurt." Harry says. "Though I'm concerned we didn't hear anything about it before."
"We were on a cruise ship." Hermione says. "Then all of us got on a train, no chance to get the news."

There was a private sorting for Amanda, luckily enough the hat placed her in Gryffindor. She sat with Hermione and the others as Dumbledore gives his speech.
"Hello all and welcome to another year here at Hogwarts. First I want to tell you all that their will be no Quidditch Cup this year." Dumbledore says. A lot of students boo at this announcement, Dumbledore holds his hand up silencing the crowd. "The reason behind that is after nearly 100 yearz I'm proud to say Hogwarts will be hosting the Tri-wizard Tournament! More details will be given later."
Harry and Hermoine share a look of complete surprise. Harry immediately started thinking: The Tri-wizard tournament? Here? Why were they just now hearing about this? As members of the Board of Governors they should have been consulted before it was allowed.
'I'll go to the library and look up any information I can find on this tournament.' Hermione sends through their link.
'I'm going to confront Dumbledore.' Harry says as he watches Dumbledore leave the feast.
They get up and head their separate ways. "They seemed a little upset." Lavender says.
"I'm sure they're not happy finding out about the tournament with everyone else." Ron says.
"Oh, right." Lavender says.
"Why should they have known before anyone else?" Amanda asks confused.
"Come on, I'll tell you everything." Neville says as head leads the way to the common room.
Harry storms towards Dumbledore's office. As he approaches the gargoyle practically jumps out of his way to reveal the stairway. Harry goes upstairs. "Mister Potter, I was expecting you. Where's Missus Potter?"
"She went to the library to research the tournament so we'd have more information about it." Harry answers. "Now, Headmaster, why were two members of the Board of Governors not contacted before it was decided that this school would host this tournament?"
"You two were off on your honeymoon. We didn't want to bother you. So we contacted your proxies and had them vote in your place." Dumbledore explains.
"So Sirius and Professor McGonagall?" Harry asks.
Dumbledore nods. "They both voted against it while Lucius and Senecio Sprout voted for it. As I was too close to the matter we contacted the Minister, as a neutral party, and had him cast the deciding vote."
Harry nods, "that sounds reasonably fair. What precautions are you taking to ensure younger students don't enter the tournament?"
"I'm going to make an age line, no one under 17 will be able to cross it." Dumbledore assures.
"Very well, you followed proper procedures so I suppose we just lost this one." Harry says. "Thank you for your time."

"I suspected I would find you here." McGonagall says, pulling Hermione's attention from her book.
Hermione closes the book. "I was just researching this tournament. It sounds dangerous."
"Aye, it is." McGonagall admits, "many participants have died competing in the past. That's why it hasn't been held in a while."
"What changed?" Hermione asks.
"I do not know." McGonagall answers.
"It's too late for us to stop it now." Hermione says, then after a moment of silence, she speaks again. "I'm sure this isn't what you wanted to talk to me about."
"No, I arranged married quarters for you." McGonagall says as she hands Hermione an old ornate key. "Since you both are Gryffindors you can access your quarters through the common room."
"That will work just fine." Hermione says.
Harry and Hermione meet outside the common room. Hermione gives the password and they step inside. The room goes quiet as everyone realizes it's them.
Lavender gets up and comes over to them. "I thought you two applied to have married quarters."
"We did." Hermione says. "We access them through the common room."
"How?" Lavender asks.
"I'm not sure," Hermione admits. "Professor McGonagall gave me this key." She pulls the key out of her pocket. In the common room there has long been a bare wall that they all thought was strange, but now things make sense as a set of ornate doors appear.
"I suppose it's that way." Harry says.
Hermione walks up to the door, she can feel the eyes of all the Gryffindors in the room watching her as she puts the key in and unlocks the door. The key vanishes as the doors open up to a hallway.
Harry steps beside her and they step into the hallway. They see a door with a brass plaque that reads: The Potters. The door opens for them and they step into their new quarters. They enter a spacious bedroom with a king-size four-post bed. The sheets on the bed are all Gryffindor red. The bedroom also has a small sitting area.
Attached to the bedroom are a dressing room and a large bathroom. They step into the bathroom. "Look at the size of that shower." Harry says then grins at Hermione.
Hermione chuckles. "Perfect for you to wash my hair."
"I can handle that." Harry says.
Hermione kisses him softly. "Come on, let's go back out before they think we're breaking in the new room."
Harry nods and they head back out to the common room. Ginny comes up to them. "Can we see your room?" She asks.
"Sure," Hermione responds.
