Chapter 1

After being reborn, I took the initiative to place the divorce agreement in front of Zhou Zeyu.

He didn't even glance at it before tossing it aside. "I'm not giving you custody of our son."

"I don't want custody."

Zhou Zeyu lifted his gaze. "Have you really thought this through?"

"I have." I said calmly. I had thought it through long ago.

In my previous life, I couldn't bear to leave my son, and because of that, Zhou Zeyu haunted the rest of my years—until our son grew up.

But on the day of his wedding, he said in front of everyone,

"I hope my mom can let my dad and Auntie Lin be together. Auntie Lin has been with my dad for so many years. It hasn't been easy for her."

"I'd rather die than do homework! You can't make me!"

Eight-year-old Ethan Zhou threw himself on the floor, kicking and screaming like a daily routine.

Every day was the same.

I insisted he finish his homework before playing.

I limited his screen time to thirty minutes.

He was only allowed fast food once a week.

I set countless rules, hoping he'd grow up with discipline and good habits.

But everything I built crumbled the day Lin Yaqi entered the picture.

He told me,

"Auntie Lin never makes me do homework. She just takes me out to play."

"She doesn't stop me from eating drumsticks. She says boys need protein to grow."

"I don't like you at all. I wish Auntie Lin were my mom."

In my past life, I swallowed my heartbreak and chose to forgive him.

I believed he was too young to understand and that someday he'd appreciate my efforts.

So I kept pushing him—into studying, exercising, eating right.

He eventually graduated from a prestigious university, started his own company, and married a suitable woman.

At his wedding, when the officiant asked him to thank his parents, he said,

"I hope my mom can let my dad and Auntie Lin be happy. She's sacrificed so much over the years."

Lin Yaqi sobbed on stage like the heroine of a tragedy.

As for me, standing there like an extra in someone else's play—I looked pathetic.

"Mom, you forced me to live a life I didn't want. Without Auntie Lin's quiet warmth and support, I'd have been ruined long ago.

You and Dad stopped loving each other ages ago—why cling to the marriage and make everyone miserable?"

I don't remember how I staggered out of that wedding.

All I know is—I ran a red light and got hit by a car.

And then, somehow, I was reborn.

Now, staring at my mischievous son in this second life, I nodded.

"Okay. No more homework."

Ethan, still sprawled on the floor, blinked at me in disbelief. "Are you serious?"

"Of course," I said calmly.

"Can I go watch TV now?"

"Not just TV—you can play with the tablet too."

"Can I eat chips while I play?" he asked, testing my limits.

"Whatever you want."

"Why are you being so nice to me all of a sudden?" Ethan asked suspiciously.

I smiled without answering.

I no longer expected sincerity from an ungrateful child who never truly grew up.

"Are you afraid I'll only love Auntie Lin and not you?" he smirked.

"I'll give you whatever you want," I replied, enunciating each word.

Even if that includes your beloved Auntie Lin.
