Chapter 82 - Chapter 81 - Mystic Eyes of Death Perception

The monster in the sky was an avatar of calamity. Its multiple wings, now fully spread, obscured the sun, plunging the ruined city into suffocating twilight. Each beat of its wings created a thunderclap that cracked the ground below. And when its legs began to move, as if searching for something to crush, the world seemed to shrink before its presence.

Salter and Jalter exchanged a glance.

"Let's go." Salter gave a half-smile...

Jalter spun her flag and spat to the side. "Yeah, let's rip the wings off that damned fly."

The Super Demon descended like a comet, a living meteor tearing through the atmosphere. The black flies that once formed swarms now merged into its form, creating a grotesque exoskeleton of dark energy that shimmered with magical circles made of constantly shifting, complex calculations.

Salter was the first to move.

With a sharp crack, she exploded into motion, using [Mana Burst] to its full potential, her feet shattering the ground with every step. Excalibur Morgan in hand, her blade was a beacon of pure, dark purple destruction as it sliced through the air. Each step left a trail of energy that dissipated into dense mists.

Jalter followed, but instead of running, she advanced through the air, using fiery stakes as platforms she created in mid-space, leaping from one to another with brutal agility. Her flag, enveloped in flames, was a serpent of fury lashing the sky.

The impact was immediate.

Salter leaped, Excalibur Morgan swinging in a horizontal slash aimed at decapitating the Super Demon. But the creature simply moved one of its countless legs, blocking the strike. The sound of the clash was like shattered bells, reverberating through the ruins. The blade didn't cut, but the force of the impact made the monster stagger back half a step.

"Now, Jalter!"

Jalter dove, spinning in the air, and descended with her flag in a vertical strike. Stakes erupted within a fifty-meter radius around the Super Demon, piercing it from multiple angles. The ground trembled as if about to collapse, and the flames intensified, engulfing the creature.

But it moved.

With a grotesque twist, it used its wings as blades, slicing through the flaming stakes and creating a whirlwind that swept Jalter away, hurling her like a projectile into a ruined building.

"JALTER!" Salter shouted, charging again, her sword an extension of her fury.

The Super Demon brought one of its legs down on her, but Salter spun, dodging at the last moment, and slid along the creature's side, plunging Excalibur Morgan into one of its leg joints.

Black blood sprayed like an explosion of living ink.

But it didn't fall.

Instead, a tail emerged from its body, a serpent of pure malevolent energy that tried to ensnare Salter. She sliced through the tail, but a second and third appeared immediately after.

Jalter reappeared, spitting blood but with a smile fueled by rage.

"This time, you bastard, you'll feel it."

She raised her flag again.

Activating her La Grondement Du Haine, flaming stakes spiraled around the Super Demon, compressing into a fiery prison. But the monster had no intention of being sealed. It unleashed a wave of miasma that distorted the reality around it. The stakes flickered, unstable.

"Hold on tight, Jalter!" Salter shouted, running along the side of the prison, her sword preparing for the decisive blow.

The Super Demon, however, moved its hands, launching dozens of vector blades in all directions. Salter dodged one after another, but a single misstep allowed a blade to slice her flank, opening a deep wound.

She stumbled but didn't fall.

With a primal scream, Salter leaped, her Excalibur Morgan erupting in a near-black purple light.

The strike was brutal.

She slashed diagonally, hitting the base of one of the Super Demon's wings. There was a crack, and the wing was severed, falling like a collapsing mountain.

The monster roared for the first time, a sound that made the air vibrate with pain.

But it wasn't enough.

The Super Demon moved its vectors and teleported behind Salter, its hand already closing into a fist wrapped in mystical equations.

That's when Jalter intercepted.

She drove her flag into the ground, creating an explosion that threw both back. The Super Demon retreated, but Jalter fell to her knees, panting, her arms trembling from exhaustion.

"Damn it... even that wasn't enough..."

Salter approached, limping, but her eyes gleamed coldly.

"It's starting to react. That's an advantage."

The sky began to tear again.

The Super Demon opened its hands, and a sphere of pure energy began to form. It was dense, so dense that the space around it collapsed into black lines.

Jalter stood, still trembling.

Salter pointed Excalibur Morgan to the sky.

They knew they had seconds.

But seconds would be enough.

They would bet everything on it.

The Super Demon launched the sphere. It advanced like a miniature black hole, sucking in everything around it.

Salter ran toward the destruction, Excalibur Morgan glowing with a [Mana Burst] that tore the ground with each step. She sliced through the sphere, splitting it into two smaller fragments that exploded behind her in waves of distorted gravity.

Jalter appeared from the flank, her flag spinning like a flaming drill, piercing through the tide of miasma the Super Demon tried to use as a curtain.

Both collided at the same time.

Excalibur Morgan struck from top to bottom, while Jalter's flag came in an upward slash. The cross-impact hit the Super Demon's chest, creating an explosion of pure physical energy that split the air into beams of purple and red light.

The monster staggered back, but before it could stabilize, Salter and Jalter were on it again.

Blow after blow.

Slashes that opened fissures in the fly-armor.

Flaming stakes that pierced its joints.

The Super Demon, even with its body regenerating endlessly, was being forced to retreat step by step.

It spun, its wings trying to sweep the two away, but Salter leaped, stepping on her own blade to dodge, while Jalter descended like a bolt, her flag striking the creature's face with an impact that deformed its skull for an instant.

"This time, you'll fall!!" Jalter roared.

The Super Demon then raised both hands, and the sky split. A rain of vector spheres, small and lethal like bullets, fell like a cursed storm. Salter and Jalter moved like shadows, dodging, blocking, slashing. But the rain was relentless.

Salter was hit in the shoulder, the impact drawing blood in spurts. Jalter took a cut to the thigh but didn't stop.

Jalter drove her flag into the ground.

"La Grondement Du Haine!"

A flaming wall rose around them, blocking part of the storm.

Salter, meanwhile, channeled every drop of mana she had.

"EXCALIBUR MORGAN!!"

The beam of dark energy cut through the sky in a straight line, striking the Super Demon with a force that demolished the clouds around it.

The impact was so brutal that the monster was thrown back, crashing into the ground and creating a crater that swallowed half the ruins.

Yet, it rose.

Disfigured, regenerating, its emotionless eyes fixed on the two.

Salter fell to her knees, panting, but with a victorious smile.

"It's starting to bleed for real..."

Jalter spun her flag, her eyes burning with hatred.

"Then we'll make it bleed until it evaporates."

With a war cry, both charged again, determined to crush the very existence of that demon.

It was now or never.

The Super Demon didn't wait. Before Salter and Jalter could close the distance, it snapped its grotesque fingers.

The lines of space twisted, folding in on themselves. The two were pulled forward and backward at the same time, their bodies defying the laws of motion.

Salter was the first to feel the impact.

Without warning, her body was compressed by invisible vectors, as if glass walls had collapsed on her. The air was ripped from her lungs as she was thrown against an invisible barrier in mid-air, only to be crushed by another force that slammed her into the ground.

Jalter, meanwhile, was trapped in a spatial fold. She ran, only to find herself running in place. The ground beneath her feet turned into a shattered mirror, multiplying her into infinite reflections as the Super Demon appeared behind her soundlessly, as if reality were playing in slow motion just for her.

A vector blade pierced her flank, opening a deep gash that burned with pain amplified by the Super Demon's ability.

"Damn—!"

She spun her flag, trying to retaliate, but the space twisted, and the Super Demon was no longer there. It reappeared above, descending with a fist that seemed to carry the gravity of a planet. Jalter raised her flag to block, but the impact crushed her, forcing her knees to sink into the concrete.

Salter tried to react, releasing a [Mana Burst] to break free from the invisible prisons, but time froze.

Though only for an instant, before her [Magic Resistance] helped her shatter the spell.

She drove Excalibur Morgan into the ground.

The following impact wasn't physical—it was magical. The space around the blade screamed. The distortions shattered into fragments of black light, freeing both her and Jalter.

Jalter moved at that moment.

She broke from the deadlock, appearing beside the Super Demon with a fiery stake that tore through the side of its face, drawing a torrent of black blood.

The monster, enraged, opened its hands again. The vector equations began folding space into infinite layers, but Jalter gave it no room. She drove her flag into its chest...

"Go play God in hell, you bastard!"

But the Super Demon was relentless.

It twisted the time around the flag, accelerating the weapon's deterioration. But it was futile, as it was the crystallization of Jeanne d'Arc Alter's legend—not a mere weapon but a concept formed from her history...

Salter charged, leaping over the spatial cracks.

With a scream, she severed one of the monster's front legs, forcing it to retreat. But the creature didn't yield. It countered with a blast of vector magic that slammed Salter against an invisible wall, drawing a spurt of blood from her mouth.

"ARGH!"

She fell to her knees but held Excalibur Morgan like an anchor, refusing to collapse.

The Super Demon then manipulated local time, creating a field of extreme acceleration around Jalter. For her, a second became a minute.

"Damn it... not... that easy..." Jalter gritted her teeth.

Salter unleashed a second [Mana Burst], shattering the spatial prisons and propelling herself forward, even with fractured ribs. Excalibur Morgan became a purple comet, aiming straight for the demon's chest.

The Super Demon tried to react, but Jalter grabbed its head, forcing it to stay in place.

"If you distort time, I'll distort your face, you worm!!!"

Salter leaped.

The impact was absolute.

The black blade pierced the Super Demon's chest, and the pain was immediate: the distortion field collapsed like shattered glass, freeing Jalter and restoring reality to its normal state.

Its wings closed in a defensive reflex, but the two were already on it. Jalter, even bleeding, activated her [La Grondement Du Haine] for the third time, launching a spiral of stakes directly into the opening Salter created.

The monster tried to teleport, but it was too late.

The combined strike pierced the Super Demon from side to side.

An explosion of pure energy swept through the ruins, engulfing everything in a blinding flash of purple and blood-red light.

When the dust settled, the monster was on the ground.

It had fully regenerated again!

The exoskeleton of black flies regenerated endlessly, and its wings, though damaged, spread like a grotesque flower of death. The vector equations danced around its body, bending reality at multiple points.

Jalter spat blood, her trembling hands gripping the flag.

Salter leaned on Excalibur Morgan, panting, but her eyes... her eyes burned as if the scene only made her angrier.

The Super Demon raised its arms.

The space around it cracked under the immense demonic energy it was releasing.

A black energy sphere, the size of a city, condensed in its hands, but its size wasn't what mattered—it was the density. That strike wasn't meant to destroy a city. It was meant to erase an entire planet, and if they weren't in a [Pocket Dimension], it would have been the end of humanity...

Before the two could react, the Super Demon launched the sphere.

In the instant when the world seemed doomed to be swallowed by that black sphere of absolute destruction, a slash cut through the sky.

There was no explosion, no impact.

The sphere simply lost its glow, as if it had been killed. It split in half in a deafening silence and dissolved into pale particles, unable to sustain its own existence.

Standing between the attack and his Servants was Kazuya, casually poised. His blue eyes were fixed on the Super Demon, cold, with his [Mystic Eyes of Death Perception] active.

He raised the [True Longinus], which he had materialized earlier to kill the monster's attack.

The spear extended, tearing through space at a speed human eyes couldn't follow. In an instant, it crossed the battlefield, piercing the Super Demon at the exact point where all the lines of death converged.

The monster froze.

Its body tried to resist, to regenerate, to bend the laws that held it together. But there was no "resistance" against death.

It was erased from existence, just like that. Its massive body withered and died completely, turning into fragments of demonic energy that floated through the pocket dimension...

And then, nothing remained.

The battle ended in a single instant of perfect precision.
