With that sudden shout, more and more people crowded around Rachel.
Garrett Vincent frowned slightly. In the next second, he pulled Rachel into a nearby parked car and drove off without hesitation.
The car sped away, leaving the crowd staring in disbelief, whispering and gossiping about the relationship between Rachel and Garrett.
Inside the car, Rachel turned to him. "Thanks for that earlier. Just drop me off somewhere nearby."
But Garrett didn't stop. Instead, he asked, "What exactly happened?"
"I was just recognized by a stranger as Rachel. My case has been trending online ever since Celeste's apology," Rachel explained softly. "Can you pull over? My friend is still at the bookstore, and I need to meet her."
Garrett pressed his lips together but eventually pulled over by the side of the road.
