"Maybe," Jeffrey replied, his eyelashes lowering slightly. "But at least now, he won't be so stubborn about thinking you're the person he's been searching for."
"Yeah," Rachel sighed softly. "There shouldn't be any more misunderstandings like that. Plus, he finally found the person he's been looking for, which is great."
With that, he wouldn't cry like that anymore, right?
But without warning, the image of Garrett Vincent's tears flashed across her mind.
For some reason, her chest suddenly felt heavy, and a dull ache throbbed in her head.
Rachel stopped in her tracks, raising a hand to press against her temple.
"What's wrong?" Jeffrey asked quickly, worry flashing across his gorgeous face.
"Nothing, it's just… my head suddenly started to hurt a little," she murmured.
Looking at her pale face, Jeffrey frowned. "You don't look well. How about we find a hotel nearby so you can rest?"
There wasn't even a decent star-rated hotel around, only a few small inns.
