Brandon quickly steadied his wife and turned to his eldest daughter, scolding, "How can you treat Aunt Faith like that? She's your elder! Apologize to her right now!"
Rachel looked coldly at her father.
For so long, she had tried to earn his approval, hoping he would treat her like he treated Danielle. But now she realized it had all been a pointless dream.
Finally, she was completely disillusioned.
"Apologize? For what? Are you saying I should just let her hit me? If she wants to insult me or even my mother, I should just stand there and take it? Who was it that wronged my mom back then? Do I need to spell it out for you?"
Brandon's face flashed with embarrassment, but as Faith continued to wail, he said, "So what if Aunt Faith hits you a few times? Why don't you talk about the terrible things you did to your sister? If it weren't for you, she wouldn't have been broken up with."
Rachel scoffed. "Why don't you ask her what she's done?"
