Chapter 213 - Chapter 213: The Python Leaves Its Lair

As the seal pattern completely vanished, Pakura felt chakra filling her body for the first time in a long while.

Orochimaru withdrew his hands and turned around.

"Put this on."

Pakura bit her lip to hold back a laugh. She'd never seen Orochimaru this shy before.

Without any visible movement, steam began rising from her hair, gradually drying it.

"Aren't you afraid I'll sneak up behind you and attack?"

Pakura's voice came from behind Orochimaru. At such a short distance, her Scorch Release could be deadly.

"You won't."

Orochimaru showed no sign of caution. His tone was calm and confident.

"Is that so?"

A soft chuckle escaped Pakura's lips as her last emotional barrier crumbled.

She stepped forward, wrapping both arms around Orochimaru's waist from behind.

Her entire body pressed tightly against Orochimaru's back.

"Would you call this an ambush?"

Orochimaru startled slightly, then felt the softness against his back and Pakura's gentle whisper.

"I would."

He reached back to grasp Pakura's hands resting on his chest, a faint smile tugging at his lips.

"I really am pathetic for needing you to take the initiative."

"You know what? These past days have been the most relaxed time I've ever had."

"No dangerous missions, no deceit or betrayal."

"Just knowing you were sitting there gave me peace."

"Waiting for you to come home every day... it feels like... I finally have a home."

Pakura slowly poured out her heart, tears now streaming down her cheeks.

They were both orphans. Both elite ninja. Perhaps these shared experiences were what brought them together.

"I understand."

Orochimaru tightened his grip on Pakura's hands.

"Orochimaru, will you marry me?"

Pakura composed herself slightly, pulling her hands away to wipe her tears.

"It doesn't matter that I can't learn Scorch Release."

"I'd be happy to have a wife and child who can use it."

Orochimaru turned around to face the beautiful woman before him, his eyes flashing with intensity.

His mood was different now — less anxious, more eager.

Tsunade was right after all. If he didn't act soon, he'd be doing his serpent a disservice.

"Pfft~"

Pakura couldn't help but laugh at Orochimaru's words.

"Pakura."

"Hmm?"

Orochimaru softly called her name, then cupped her face in his hands.

Their gazes met once again, and the atmosphere inside the room became increasingly intimate.

Orochimaru gazed at Pakura's luscious lips and bent down to kiss her.

Soon, all Pakura could do was let out soft moans.

She felt breathless as his tongue danced skillfully and insistently inside her mouth.

Finally, they broke apart.

Orochimaru scooped Pakura into his arms and headed toward the bed.

Pakura wrapped her arms around Orochimaru's neck, silently biting her lip.

Her gaze alone felt almost physical, thick with desire.

To Orochimaru, she had never looked more desirable.

"Now you definitely won't be able to take it back."

Gently laying Pakura down on the bed, Orochimaru spoke softly.

"I wouldn't regret it~"

Before Pakura had even finished speaking, she was stripped down like a helpless little bunny.

The entire body was completely exposed before Orochimaru. She made no effort to cover herself, letting her hands rest at her sides.

Openly displaying her charm—this was exactly like her character.

Orochimaru took off his kimono, and finally, the two were face-to-face without any barriers.

There was no need for words anymore as Orochimaru moved forward.

A shower of soft kisses rained down on every inch of pale skin.

The temperature between their bodies began to rise, each feeling the other's powerful heartbeat.

Orochimaru couldn't hold back anymore; every second felt like torment.

As Pakura let out a cry—part pain, part pleasure—

her nails scraped across Orochimaru's back, leaving behind crimson scratch marks on his skin.

...

The serpent's fierce passion left Pakura sore the next morning when she got out of bed.

After stepping out and taking a couple of steps, she turned around and shot Orochimaru a fierce glare.

"Well, I didn't have any experience either."

"I'll remember that for next time."

Orochimaru scratched his head with an embarrassed smile, looking completely different from his usual self.

"Hmph~"

Pakura gave a cold snort. She had already said no, yet he still insisted.

She'd almost fallen apart after one night. Luckily, the seals had been released, or the consequences would've been worse.

"Let me support you."

Orochimaru, showing at least some awareness, put on his clothes and helped Pakura up toward the bathroom to wash up.

Then, he went to the dining room to prepare breakfast—an unusual delay in arriving at his lab for once.

When he arrived at the laboratory, Misaki had already finished cleaning and was now reading.

"Professor Orochimaru, why do you seem so happy today?"

Misaki noticed the unusually cheerful look on Orochimaru's face—he looked completely different from usual.

"Nothing much. Just a good mood."

"Is Nagato not coming today?"

Of course, Orochimaru wouldn't tell Misaki what happened between him and Pakura.

"He checked in with Anbu."

Since Nawaki and Minato had joined Anbu together, Misaki naturally knew about it.

"Oh, right."

Orochimaru wasn't surprised—he'd already heard of Nagato's strength from Kawaki.

He entered the lab alone, with Misaki trailing behind him.

Another promising day had begun.

Early this morning, Minato and Nawaki brought Yahiko and the three kids to the Anbu headquarters.

The four children immediately caught everyone's attention.

Nawaki and Minato were already somewhat famous.

Whether because of their status or their accomplishments, no Anbu would dare claim to be stronger than them.

Along the way, they were greeted warmly by everyone.

Though these people wore masks, the group paid it no mind.

After asking one of the Anbu members, Minato led everyone to Sakumo's office.

Knock knock~

"Come in."

Sakumo's voice came from inside.

"Lord Sakumo."

All five used respectful titles.

"Yes, your identities have been recorded."

"Minato and Nawaki are squad captains. You three will be regular members."

"Go get your uniforms. Nawaki, your team is also waiting for you."

Sakumo tossed Nawaki three sheets of paper—his subordinates' profiles.

"Yes, Lord Sakumo."

Minato and the others followed the personnel assigned by Lord Sakumo out the door.

"This is the changing room. You'll have to learn the rest on your own."

"That's also the first lesson in Anbu."

The masked Anbu ninja said nothing more and left at once.

"Just go in."

Nawaki casually shoved the door open and stepped inside first.

Inside, there were quite a few Anbu ninja who turned their gazes toward the newcomers.

"So these are the fresh recruits?"

"What do you mean 'fresh recruits'? You don't recognize Minato Namikaze and Nawaki?"

"Disciples of Lord Kawaki and the Hokage's younger brother."

"They fought in the Second Shinobi World War—still calling them rookies?"

"The other three look completely unfamiliar though, and way too young."

"Just how old is that girl anyway?"

...

In the not-so-large room, murmurs and comments arose one after another.

Minato and the others ignored the whispers and made their way to their assigned lockers, matching the numbers they'd been given.

Each locker contained a brand-new combat uniform and a mask.

"Let's get changed first."

Minato entered the private changing booth first.

Before long, everyone came back together, at least in terms of dress now indistinguishable from the Anbu ninja.
