Chapter 61 - Chapter 14 part 4

Lila came over to the playground as she looked towards the side where a odd coppery smell was coming. She pushed her scooter to the side and went inside of the park extremely confused as she saw much less people playing and it seemed a lot more quieter compared to the usual children playing around and people chatting and it felt like something was very dodgy as she looked around the small forest nearby that was covered in trees. There was mainly birch and ash trees but a few other types could be such as Aspen trees. She began to go outside to the forest and there was a large dug up hole that had been modified to fit a slide in for some reason that was screwed down and impossible to get out. She began to carefully walk along the edges of the hole as she looked down at her watch, seeing that it was 4:4o pm in the afternoon and today was a little warmer, a good 14°C today.

She walked deeper through the dirt path and the coppery smell started to get stronger as she stopped at a ditch where she carefully went down the ladder since she thought she saw something shiny down there. She landed as she saw something stick out of the dirt and struggled to pull it up. After a whole lot of effort she pulled out what looked to be a sort of metallic shrapnel with something hanging from it. It looked to be a sort of thinly craved out bone? She wasn't sure what to call it. She looked upwards and crawled out of the hole as she looked at the object "What even is this thing I had gotten?" She asked as she started to get up and walk along the pathway as she saw a board with a map nearby with drawings of places such as the lake where a tributary was joined to the main "Willow" river. There was also drawings of different directions as well.

She saw that the smell coming from the top-left direction as she soon began running over, not wanting to waste her time anymore. She went over to the thick bushes as she tried to push through them to get to the shortcut and entered. There she heard something like river noises where the water was travelling down quickly and birds perched on rocks to grab fish in the rushing water where the smell of moss could be felt from there which was very earthy. But still that sort of thick smell cut through the mossy smell as she began to jump through the rocks to get to the other side before going across more plant-like flora before she paused somewhere. There she saw a small streaming red liquid which made her heart smell. It was a tart red colour that seemed to be raw and untainted as it moved unevenly across the dirt like a water drop flowing down the window.

She followed the trail and smelt something repulsive as she gagged a bit as her eyes watered up. She soon saw something that she couldn't believe herself as she saw a familiar boy laying nearby. She jumped through a large grassy trail and saw Arthur laying down having a trickle of blood going down from his sleeve and the middle of his blue T-shirt was stained with blood while his skin had a indisposed pale colour. The colour looked gone from his eyes where the pupils no longer had the glint of light in them. She turned him around as his back also had a dark stain. She held him in his arms before saying with panic in her voice "Arthur?" She asked with her voice trembling as she put hand over his heart where no pulse was felt from them. She sobbed a bit too loudly as she coughed. Her yelling struggled to get out as the sound of shifting wind could be heard quietly wrapping around her face.

She saw his phone to the side as she opened it up and saw a draft text to his mother saying "Ma! Please help me!" then the rest of it was gibberish as she put it down. Then she saw the missing calls as she soon called Arthur's mother. Soon she heard his mother say "Arthur, where have you been, I'm been calling you for a while now, we are going to have a talk later about this young man." Lili soon replied to her "Mrs Akaula? Its Lili." Mrs Akaula looked surprised upon hearing her voice "Lili? I'm surprised to see you here. What happened to my son?" Lili struggled to get her words out "Mrs, h-he's dead." Before her voice became another choked sob. Immediately Mrs Akaula paused at what she said before the only thing she could say was "I'm coming to pick you up. Hold on." As the call closed afterwards as Lili held her friend in her arms while her tears dripped onto the grass.

Soon she heard a car drive up as someone got out of there as she saw Mrs Akaula, an ginger woman around 41 years old with brown eyes and a formal dress covering her own body as she knelt downwards looking over Andrew, she soon picked up his body as they went inside of the car and she began to call 999. As it switched over to the police service, she began to talk after that, she soon said with a sense of worry in her voice "We will take him to the hospital, don't you worry about this." She said before driving away through the road as she bumped over the humps that formed along the horizon as she went to the hospital nearby. She turned off her Gps as Lili got out as she watched her go inside with Arthur's body. She looked seeing the shadows moving around across the trees, each one seemed to be mocking as she waited for Mrs Akaula to come out and tell on what to do after this.

Soon after 25 minutes, she saw her coming out as Mrs Akaula said "Well, would you mind staying over with me tonight? I got some things to talk to you about. Don't worry, I'll call your mother." Lili gave a yes as they went back to the car and began driving over to Mrs Akaula's place.
