Zane's POV
"Don't lie to me," I said, gritting my teeth while staring into her lifeless eyes.
How long has it been since we talked like this? I don't know. For three years, I did everything to pay for what I did to her. For hurting her. I avoided her after begging for forgiveness that she refused to give. Now, she's here in front of me again. She was so near, but felt unreachable because everything has changed now.
"I'm not lying to you, Zane." Her voice was shaking a little. "Zari told me. I don't wanna believe it too but I also don't want to waste the chance to see him again…even if it's not him. I just…want to see his face."
My brows furrowed, my jaw clenched, and my fists balled.
The undeniable pain in my heart made my chest tighten.
To see his face again in another person will hurt more, but I want that too. I want to see him again.
"Help me, Zane…" Kei begged as tears rolled down her cheeks. "I want to see my brother again."
