## Chapter 11: The Champion of Justice (Confirmed)
The few people gathered around the table heard Grandpa Sugoroku's voice and all turned their heads.
Grandpa Sugoroku, who had been inside the house for quite a while, pulled open the curtain of the inner room and emerged, holding a small, dusty box. As he walked out, he kept patting the dust off the box: "Oh dear, it's a precious collection, but I usually can't bear to take it out, so it was quite hard to find it in a hurry."
"Oh, Grandpa, are there Rare Cards in here?" Joey excitedly ran over first. Tristan and Téa, who had watched Lin Shun and Yugi's Duel and were starting to get interested in the game of "Duel Monsters," followed behind Joey.
Seeing everyone else head towards the counter where Grandpa Sugoroku was, Yugi quickly said to Lin Shun: "Lin Shun, let's hurry over too. Grandpa's Card is really super~ rare!"
"Tsk, always bluffing, huh? Fine, I'll let you off the hook." Since Yugi had actively changed the subject, Lin Shun temporarily let go of the point about Yugi "holding back in the Duel," and followed Yugi towards the counter.
However, he still felt a bit of regret in his Heart. Although his own Deck was only the System's Starter Deck, the Cards Yugi used weren't his later fully constructed version either. While there was a difference in the quality of their Decks, it wasn't ridiculously large. This meant that this was very likely Lin Shun's best chance to defeat Yugi.
Though he felt some regret, he wasn't disheartened. There would be plenty more opportunities for him to Duel Yugi, in Duelist Kingdom, Battle City, and beyond. Next time, he would definitely get his win!
Grandpa Sugoroku was cleaning the small box. A fair amount of dust had accumulated on its cowhide exterior. To avoid damaging the Card he was about to take out, Grandpa Sugoroku carefully cleaned it over and over again. It was clear that he still highly valued the Card inside.
"Grandpa, while you were inside, we just finished watching a Duel between Yugi and Lin Shun." Téa and Tristan were a bit choked by the dust and moved slightly away from the counter. Joey, however, seemed to have no nose at all, completely unafraid of the dust. He crowded the closest, eager to see the Card inside the box first. As he waited, he narrated the play-by-play of the Duel to Solomon, who hadn't seen it.
"Oh? 4000 Attack Power! Yugi is really impressive, truly my grandson!" Solomon didn't forget to praise himself while commending Yugi, but he also remembered Lin Shun. "Of course, Lin Shun, you're impressive too. A Monster with 3000 Attack Power isn't something you see just anywhere."
"Exactly! If you ask me, the highest Attack Power in Duel Monsters can't be much more than that." Joey's confident expression made it seem like he was the one who had Summoned the 3000 Attack Power Monster earlier. "Without using a Spell Card, I doubt any Monster could possess such terrifying power."
"Ho ho, that's not necessarily true," Solomon said, shaking his head after hearing Joey's words. He then held out the box, which was mostly cleaned of dust.
"This contains my treasure. Today, I'll show you children something truly special."
"Oh! What is it, what is it?!" This time, it wasn't just Joey; even Tristan and Téa crowded closer. Yugi and Lin Shun stood on the outermost edge of the group.
Carefully opening the box, Solomon Muto solemnly put on a pair of white gloves, then drew a Card from inside and displayed it before everyone: "Look, it's this one."
Blue-Eyes White Dragon!
"Whoa, incredible! Both its Attack Power and DEF, and the sheer oppressive feeling from its Card Art!" Joey's eyes were practically glued to it. Just moments ago, he had said that no Monster could reach 3000 Attack Power, and then Solomon Muto pulled out this Card. What's more, its DEF was also a massive 2500, a level that even Gaia The Fierce Knight would find difficult to break through.
"This Card is called 'Blue-Eyes White Dragon', and among all Duel Monsters, it's considered a Super Rare Card." Joey's flattery pleased Solomon, who continued his introduction with a proud expression: "Both its Attack Power and DEF are top-tier, and there are only four 'Blue-Eyes White Dragon' Cards issued globally. This is one of those rare four!"
"It's practically priceless." Unlike his previous lack of understanding, Tristan didn't rashly take the Blue-Eyes White Dragon that Grandpa Sugoroku displayed. Having gained some understanding of Duel Monsters, he now comprehended the value hidden behind the Blue-Eyes White Dragon's luxurious System Panel, especially since it was a super limited edition with only four copies worldwide.
As everyone knew, "limited edition" generally meant "expensive." With Duel Monsters growing increasingly popular, if this Blue-Eyes White Dragon were offered for trade, there would likely be many people willing to exchange a house for it.
"Grandpa, bring it closer so we can get a better look!" Joey wanted to get closer, but with the counter blocking his way and Grandpa Sugoroku carefully maintaining his distance, he couldn't get any closer. He could only ask Grandpa Sugoroku.
But Solomon protectively tucked the Card behind him. Joey's eyes were too hungry; he looked as if he wanted to devour the Card. "No way! This Card isn't for sale. Letting you see it is already an exception."
"Ahaha, actually, even if I wanted to buy it, I couldn't afford it." Joey realized he might have been a bit too direct, even making Grandpa Sugoroku misunderstand that he wanted to buy the Card. "But speaking of which, I'd like to buy some powerful Monster Cards too. Grandpa, help me find some Card Packs that contain powerful Monsters."
"Hmm, that much I can do."
Tristan hesitated for a moment, then also spoke up: "Grandpa Muto, I'd like a few packs too. Could you recommend some for beginners?"
"Oh, so Tristan, you want to play Duel Monsters too, huh?" Joey turned his head to look at Tristan, a smile on his face, but it quickly morphed into a strange, exaggerated expression. "This way, I can thoroughly teach you a lesson, and you won't call me an idiot every time I lose."
"Hmph, that's hard to say. Maybe I, the beginner, will be the one teaching you a lesson then." Tristan didn't back down, returning an exaggerated expression of his own, though his wasn't quite as high-tier as Joey's.
"Grandpa, I want to buy two Cards too." Lin Shun also pulled out the wallet he had previously "swiped" from the director and his crew. The money inside totaled about 30,000 Yen.
Lin Shun didn't feel guilty about it. He knew that if the original plot trajectory had continued, that director would have been punished by Yugi's dark personality—the Pharaoh's Soul—with a Shadow Game, resulting in him seeing everything pixelated for the rest of his life. Now, he had merely been beaten up, lost a bit of face, and some money.
Lin Shun felt he truly was a Champion of Justice.
