Kakashi and Uchiha Shisui had already arrived at the ambush location prepared by the Hidden Stone, though the mission here was not within their original scope of duty.
Their mission here was only to snipe the Third Raikage.

Shisui merely stood still, not making any active defense.
After taking several hits, the green giant raised its right arm's spiral sword and thrust it downwards.
As the casters below fell to their knees, the chakra backlash from the failed technique temporarily incapacitated them.
Uchiha Shisui then moved Susanoo, herding the large number of Hidden Cloud shinobi towards the Hidden Stone's location in a pursuing stance. If anyone tried to take this opportunity to flee elsewhere, the green giant would make a remote spiral sword slash as a threat, telling them not to make futile resistance.
As long as Susanoo was active for its half-hour duration, these shinobi, lacking high-end combat power, had no way to deal with Shisui.
The Uchiha youth saw the Hidden Stone shinobi staring dumbfounded as he drove the Hidden Cloud towards their trap. He quickly deactivated the green giant and, along with Hatake Kakashi, vanished into the night, heading towards the location where the Third Raikage was trapped.
