"Vice Principal Eric, don't scare the new students…"
Joseph's calm voice drifted through the air like a spring breeze, soothing and composed.
He was more than satisfied with Magneto's imposing presence as the new dean of discipline, but he didn't show it. Instead, he took the opportunity to introduce the man more formally.
"As you can all see, in addition to teaching responsibilities, Vice Principal Eric will be overseeing the discipline of this institution. He'll ensure that all students stay focused on their studies and graduate successfully."
As he spoke, Professor X's eyebrows twitched ever so slightly. He understood immediately what Joseph was implying.
Joseph was setting a new tone for Xavier's School—a tone far stricter and more aggressive than what Charles had maintained before. Where Professor X had once ruled with understanding and leniency, Magneto's ruthless attitude brought an entirely different kind of energy. Surprisingly, it worked. Even if that motivation was fear-based, it was motivation nonetheless.
Discipline and kindness, leniency and rigor—two approaches balanced perfectly. Together, they created the pressure and excitement that would energize the entire student body.
"Charles?" Storm and Phoenix turned to Professor X, curiosity in their eyes. "What do you think about all this?"
Before either could say more, a calm voice echoed in their minds.
"Competition."
Professor X had spoken telepathically. "Joseph envisions a school powered by competition—not just among the students, but also among the professors. Growth only comes when there is pressure to improve."
The other X-Men glanced at each other in surprise. That meant if Magneto was here now... could the rest of the Mutant Brotherhood be far behind?
And just as they thought it, Joseph took a step forward and announced the next faculty member.
"Let me introduce the next vice principal," Joseph said with a calm yet commanding tone, "the one in charge of internal security—Mystique."
The tall, blue-skinned mutant stepped forward without a word. Her eyes were cold, her aura as sharp as ice. Her stoicism mirrored Magneto's. She didn't even glance at Professor X, an old ally from long ago.
Joseph's spiritual field blanketed the area. He could sense the gloom flickering on Professor X's face, but it didn't matter. He pressed on.
"What everyone needs to understand is that each department at our college holds tremendous value. This isn't just a place to teach superpowers. We also prioritize academic excellence across multiple fields."
His strong voice immediately caught the parents' attention. They had been concerned—who wanted their child to grow up knowing only how to wield destructive powers? Joseph had anticipated that.
He raised a hand and declared, "So, let me now introduce the vice principal responsible for academic education…"
A burst of water exploded beside him, and a man appeared at the center of the platform.
"Dr. Bruce Banner."
"F**k!!" Nick Fury swore, practically spitting the word out.
Phil Coulson, standing nearby with a snack in hand, froze mid-bite.
"Boss," he said, turning slowly to look at Fury, "if I'm not mistaken… Bruce Banner is the Hulk. You know, the green titan? The one we've had on our Avengers recruitment list?"
After the chaos on Broadway, S.H.I.E.L.D. had been searching the globe for Banner. Now, to see him casually introduced at Xavier's School—it was like a slap in the face.
Coulson stared wide-eyed. "Am I hallucinating?"
Nick Fury didn't answer. His one eye narrowed into a slit as he studied Banner's form. The scientist looked visibly nervous, clearly unaccustomed to this kind of crowd. Years spent in hiding, on the run from government agencies, had made him uneasy with the spotlight.
But Joseph stood beside him confidently and gestured with pride.
"Dr. Bruce Banner holds seven doctorates—in nuclear physics, radiation physics, biochemistry, engineering, robotics, computer science, and mathematics. He is one of the most brilliant minds alive today."
Gasps echoed through the student body. Even the skeptical parents were stunned.
Seven doctorates?
All in the most advanced scientific fields?
Whispers spread like wildfire. Is this school really that elite?
They had assumed the institution was all about superpowers, but this—this was next level.
And Joseph wasn't finished yet.
"In addition to Dr. Banner, our college is proud to welcome several other distinguished professors from across various disciplines."
He paused for effect, then continued.
"Mr. Matt Murdoch, Professor of Law."
"Dr. Grace Huang, Professor of Genetics, Medicine, and Biology—her research into nanotechnology places her among the global elite."
"Dr. Samuel Stern, Professor of Biochemistry."
"Professor Jane Foster, renowned astrophysicist."
"And Associate Professor Daisy Louis, specializing in applied astrophysics and quantum mechanics."
Nick Fury clenched his jaw.
Grace Huang?!
Even Phil Coulson looked shaken. "Boss, isn't Grace Huang the one behind the 'Cradle of Life' medical technology? That's on our S.H.I.E.L.D. watch list…"
"And Jane Foster—wasn't she the one recruited by Dr. Erik Selvig? Her talent in astrophysics is top-notch…"
Fury's face turned a dangerous shade of green. Coulson, noticing, trailed off.
"Be quiet, Phil," Fury growled through gritted teeth.
He couldn't believe what he was seeing.
Matt Murdoch—also known as Daredevil—had long been a subject of interest for S.H.I.E.L.D. Though his abilities weren't supernatural by birth, his skills were formidable and developed through harsh training. He was always a candidate for recruitment.
But now?
He was here. Teaching law.
Each name Joseph introduced felt like a slap across Fury's face.
And that wasn't the worst of it.
Fury remembered something else now. When they'd tried to recruit Dr. Erik Selvig, the scientist had mentioned someone offering him a "better opportunity." At the time, Fury had dismissed it—he figured the Tesseract project was incentive enough.
But now he realized it.
That better offer was this! Xavier's School!
"Fk… fk… f**k…" Fury cursed under his breath again, louder this time.
He wasn't done swearing. Not yet.
The clamor of new students made it clear that Joseph was moving on to the next surprise.
"The next professor is someone very special," Joseph said with a smile. "Not only does she command advanced technology far ahead of its time… she is also the princess of a powerful and mysterious nation."
"Most importantly… she's younger than many of you."
"Please welcome—Princess Shuri!"
As the words echoed across the grounds, the rumble of a powerful engine followed. Everyone turned.
A streak of light roared through the forest path, piercing the air like a meteor.
The source?
A sports car made entirely out of Vibranium.
It drifted across the surface of the water like a glider before parking smoothly next to the stage.
Princess Shuri stepped out, youthful and radiant at sixteen years old. Her shoes, clearly enhanced with some Wakandan tech, allowed her to walk effortlessly on water.
"Hi, everyone!" she called with a cheeky grin, waving to the crowd.
"Wakanda?!" Nick Fury shouted, finally losing control. He jumped up from his seat as if electrocuted.
His fists were clenched. His teeth were practically grinding down to dust.
And still, Joseph wasn't done.
"The final professor I'd like to introduce," he said casually, "isn't just a teacher… but also serves as the honorary president of Xavier's School alongside me."
"Ladies and gentlemen…"
"Mr. Tony Stark, also known as… Iron Man."
A whine split the sky as the armored figure descended from the clouds.
Iron Man.
Tony. Freaking. Stark.
Nick Fury was done.
He didn't yell. He didn't curse. He didn't even blink.
He just sat down slowly, his eye staring blankly at the stage, face frozen in pure disbelief.
He wasn't angry anymore.
He wasn't frustrated.
He simply felt… abandoned by the entire world.
