Chapter 5: A Storm on the Horizon
I wasn't prepared for what the king had to say. I found myself confronted with truths that surprised and confused me. Everything was changing so rapidly, as if every moment was altering my fate forever.
As I pondered the king's words, something in the air shifted. A strange light shone on the horizon, as if some kind of magical storm was approaching.
The king, scanning the horizon, said,
"The world is in danger. Your return here was no coincidence. Ancient forces have begun to stir, trying to shatter the balance of our world."
"Ancient forces?" I asked.
Glancing at Lilia, who was silently watching us, he replied, "Yes, what you have started isn't just about confronting the Dark Lord. There are ancient beings, their names lost in the books, but they are beginning to reappear. They don't distinguish between heroes and demons. Everyone is in danger."
The words froze in my mouth. If these forces were ancient, how could I confront them? I'm just an ordinary guy from another world, not a superhero.
Lilia, who had been silent throughout the conversation, finally said in her calm voice,
"The ability you have isn't just a random power. It's a gateway to other skills, skills that may open new paths for you. But you have to learn how to control them."
I felt something strange surge through my body. There was an inner urge to search for more answers, and I felt that this world wasn't just a strange place I'd come to, but part of something much bigger.
