[Lilis]: That won't work. Once a task is accepted, giving it up would result in our party being restricted from accepting new tasks for a period of time. While the restriction is temporary, it's clearly not something I can decide on my own.
[Marika]: I didn't realize there was such a rule! I was being too idealistic.
[Raiden Ei]: Indeed. Even if Lilis were to share the information about the goblins with the others now, they probably wouldn't believe her, much less agree to abandon the mission.
[Akane Nishino]: This really is a tricky situation.
[Saeko Busujima]: If Lilis were powerful enough, it wouldn't be such a concern. I just checked, and Lilis's power level is only at "Wall Level." I'm afraid she wouldn't be able to handle stronger goblins if they appear.
Upon hearing this, Lilis opened the personal information section of the chat group to check her own details.
[Name: Lilis] [Power Level: Wall Level] [World: Goblin Slayer] [Abilities: Blessing of the Supreme God, Purification...]
It clearly displayed her abilities and power level, along with an explanation of the multiverse's power ranking system.
Seeing that her power was ranked just above the very bottom "Mortal" tier, Lilis felt a wave of embarrassment. She hadn't realized there were so many power levels across the multiverse, and her current strength, which she considered solidly mid-tier among adventurers in her world, placed her so low on the grand scale.
This implied that her world was, overall, quite weak and its average power level wasn't very high.
Out of curiosity, she then checked the information of other chat group members. She found they were mostly at "Country Level" or higher, several tiers above her.
Even Saeko Busujima and Seitenshi were at "Star Level," while Galacta's power reached "Universe Level," making Lilis's head spin.
Meanwhile, after seeing the details of Lilis's current adventuring party mission, Yuki fell into contemplation.
Judging by the fact that Lilis was just starting out, around 15 years old, this goblin mission was likely the origin of the psychological trauma that would haunt her later.
In the original story, she was ambushed by goblins, captured, and taken back to their nest, which left her with an indelible scar. Even after being rescued, it resulted in a lifelong fear of goblins, a weakness in her knees at the very sight of them.
Yuki naturally wouldn't stand by and let that future unfold, especially now that she was connected to him. He had the ability to easily save this future "Sword Maiden," and it would also make up for a regret he'd felt back when he first watched the series.
As Yuki pondered with his head lowered, Akane Nishino, beside him, quietly observed. Seeing his thoughtful expression, she softly asked:
"Yuki-kun, are you going to go help Lilis?"
"Hmm, I'm considering it. Those goblins are just too vile. Honestly, I find it hard to accept creatures like that even existing." Yuki nodded gently, voicing his thoughts.
"In that case, you should go. I agree, those goblins are disgusting!" Akane smiled and nodded at him.
Seeing this, Yuki smiled back, then opened the chat interface.
[Yuki]: I'll go. Frankly, I find the goblins in that world repulsive. Might as well wipe them all out.
That simple statement from Yuki carried an immense sense of reassurance. Perhaps this was the feeling of security that came from a truly powerful figure speaking up.
[Galacta]: I was thinking of going, but since Yuki is, I'll pass.
[Lilis]: Thank you, Mr. Yuki, for intervening! I express my most sincere gratitude! (Overjoyed)
Upon hearing Yuki would come, Lilis's heart was suddenly filled with nervousness and excitement. Nervous because she would meet this powerful and handsome figure in person, and excited for the very same reason.
[Yuki]: Heh, no need for thanks. In my view, creatures like goblins shouldn't exist at all.
After saying this, Yuki focused his intent and instantly vanished from the world of The Eminence in Shadow.
After seeing him off, Akane left the room to continue handling some affairs of the Omnipotent Court.
Goblin Slayer World
In a corner of the tavern, Lilis sat nervously on her chair. Her small hands, hidden beneath her full-body white priestess robes, clenched and unclenched. She pondered silently about how to greet Yuki upon his arrival, how to address him with the proper respect.
Muttering softly to herself with these thoughts, she waited.
Suddenly, she noticed everything around her had fallen silent. Looking up, she saw the people in the tavern were frozen in place. Waiters carrying dishes were paused mid-stride, expressions fixed. Outside, the wind and clouds were utterly still.
Witnessing this astonishing scene, Lilis's mouth fell slightly open in shock.
Just as she wondered what was happening, a starry gate materialized beside her. A tall, straight figure stepped out from within the starry expanse, gradually coming into full view before her.
When Lilis clearly saw his face, her mind seemed to buzz, and she froze completely.
What a flawlessly perfect face!
Could such a breathtakingly handsome and perfect man truly exist in this world? It felt utterly unbelievable!
This was Lilis's immediate thought. The moment she saw Yuki, everything else in her mind was swept away, leaving only his perfect visage.
"Lilis?"
Yuki smiled, looking at the stunned girl before him, and spoke softly. The moment he saw her, he recognized the future Sword Maiden. The long golden hair and the impressive figure hinted at beneath the priestess robes unmistakably pointed to her identity. Even without the black cloth blindfold from the original story, her unique aura was unmistakable.
