Fatih looked at the drivers' championship list as he rubbed his hand over his face, doing mental calculations on the gap between himself and the two championship contenders.
He was 68 points behind Verstappen, the championship leader, and 51 points behind Hamilton, with more than two Grand Prix's worth of points acting as a gap between him and the championship lead.
To close that gap, he would need the two to either crash twice while he won those two races, or win consecutively and add 7 or 8 points per race for at least nine races to close that gap with no crashes.
Even that sounded unrealistic, even if he got into the Red Bull, since the other two were going to be competing against him in equal machinery.
