Sophie wrapped her hand around her friend's neck, pulling her close while she leaned against her. There was a twinkle in her eyes when she questioned, "What's going on between both of you? It doesn't seem like things are awkward anymore."
Lillian sullenly responded, "He says he sees me as a younger sister and wants to look after me."
Her words made Sophie choke. She sat up straight and shook her head in disapproval. "As expected, I knew he was a scumbag, an experienced player. After flirting with you, little sister zone?"
Lillian's hand reached out for a grape on the table, playing with it in her finger. "He seems sincere about it. Maybe it's a good thing. That wouldn't overcomplicate the situation. He is willing to help me."
Even though Lillian wouldn't explicitly admit to liking him, Sophie had been her friend long enough to notice the subtle gloominess. Lillian's personality let her remain detached from people. However, when she grew fondness of someone, it stayed strong.
