As Sebastian got into the car, about to drive away, Lillian knocked on the window. Sebastian lowered the window, raising one of his brows in curiosity.
"What? Could it be that you can't let go of me?" His tone dripped with teasing amusement.
Lillian ignored it and said, "The painting you brought— the one you will be presenting to your grandfather on his birthday— it's fake. Ethan already replaced it.
Sebastian's brows drew together. His voice deepened and lowered, suspicion flickering in his eyes. "And how exactly do you know I even bought a painting or that I intend to present it at the birthday?"
"I have my sources," Lillian responded calmly, not caring about the caution displayed by Sebastian.
"Are you stalking me? Did you plant a spy beside me? Who is it? My secretary? I knew that dull, robotic face of his seemed suspicious." He gave an exaggerated shake of his head, as if deeply betrayed.
