Antares's Breath of Destruction was far more potent than the energy beam fired by Shindoki. The moment the two attacks clashed, the balance shattered.
Shindoki's beam began to collapse.
Antares's crimson flames surged forward with overwhelming force, devouring the beast's attack before engulfing Shindoki entirely. A deafening explosion shook the battlefield, drowning out Shindoki's agonizing roar.
When the smoke cleared, a massive, horrific wound marred the beast's body. The injury looked unnatural—almost as if someone had scooped a deep, jagged chunk out of ice cream rather than simply burning the flesh. The entire crater was charred pitch-black, sizzling with continuous smoke. Even from a distance, the surrounding air shimmered from the residual heat.
Shindoki staggered, its enormous body trembling as the blackened rot spread across its side.
Looking down at the flaying beast, Antares's voice boomed across the plains. "So, you have the ability to absorb chakra, do you?"
His giant red eyes remained fixed on his prey. Antares had already realized something: the wound should have been much larger. The only reason Shindoki survived was because it had instinctively tried to swallow the attack using its chakra absorption.
Antares sneered. "But do you really think you can absorb my Breath of Destruction?"
His tone carried absolute certainty. Shindoki had miscalculated. It had treated the attack like a standard, chakra-based fire ninjutsu that could be neutralized. But these flames carried destructive properties that transcended ordinary chakra manipulation. The failed absorption had forced the legendary beast to take the full brunt of the cataclysmic force.
Shindoki glared at Antares with raw hostility, finally realizing its usual methods were useless against the dragon before it.
With a deafening roar that shook the earth, the beast fought back. Under everyone's gaze, the massive charred wound began to writhe. Muscles twisted, and blackened flesh slowly reconnected as steam and heat billowed from the recovering area.
Antares watched the rapid regeneration, his enormous red eyes narrowing slightly. "Oh? High-speed regeneration. Interesting."
There was no fear in his voice. Only curiosity.
Then, Antares vanished.
He snapped his wings, creating a thunderous shockwave that shattered the ground beneath him. Moving at supersonic speed, his massive form became a blur to the naked eye. In a heartbeat, he materialized directly in front of Shindoki.
Before the beast could react, Antares's gigantic claws tore through its torso, painting the sky in a crimson deluge. Shindoki roared in pain, swinging its own mountain-shattering claws in a desperate retaliation.
But when its talons struck, nothing happened. Not even a scratch appeared on Antares's crimson scales.
Shindoki's eyes widened in horror.
Antares gave it no time to process. Opening his massive jaws, he clamped down on Shindoki's long neck. With one violent, savage yank, he tore away a massive chunk of flesh. As blood poured down like rain, Antares pressed the assault. His claws cloaked themselves in a dark, volatile aura that visibly distorted the air.
He slashed downward. The dark energy tore into Shindoki, but this time, the wounds didn't heal.
Shindoki desperately tried to regenerate, its flesh fighting to reconnect, but it couldn't keep pace with the damage. The destructive aura coating Antares's claws actively corroded the beast's cells, crippling its legendary healing speed.
For the first time, the mythical beast lost ground. Its movements slowed, its healing faltered, and its roars grew desperate.
Deciding to end the farce, Antares lunged a final time. His jaws locked firmly around Shindoki's neck. Before the beast could thrash free, Antares channeled his power.
Breath of Destruction.
A massive crimson beam erupted from point-blank range. At this distance, there was no escape.
The blast didn't just burn or pierce Shindoki's neck—it completely annihilated it. For a fraction of a second, the headless torso remained upright. Then, Shindoki's colossal head crashed to the earth, followed by the thunderous collapse of its body, kicking up a massive shroud of dust.
Silence blanketed the battlefield.
A legendary beast that had once survived a clash with Hashirama Senju, the God of Shinobi, had just been slaughtered by a red dragon.
One of the Uzumaki siblings. The Dragon Emperor—Antares Uzumaki.
On the other side of the battlefield, two colossal Susanoo towered over the landscape like descending guardian gods. Their sheer presence dominated the war zone.
The green Susanoo belonged to Shisui Uchiha; the red belonged to Itachi Uchiha. Both were among the greatest geniuses Konoha had ever produced, and now, infused with Hashirama cells, their Mangekyou Sharingan had stabilized. They no longer faced the looming threat of blindness—a limitation that had plagued the Uchiha for generations. With that shackle removed, their terrifying talent had pushed their ocular powers to godlike heights.
The green Susanoo stood calmly, lowering its weapon. Shisui's battle was already over.
His opponent, Sasori, had been far more dangerous than the version known in original timeline. This Sasori wielded two apex human puppets. The first was the Third Kazekage, retaining the lethal Iron Sand that had made him famous. The second was a custom-made ninja: a squad leader level ninja with Hashirama cell infused into him who possessed the Wood Release.
By pairing Iron Sand with Wood Release, Sasori could control the battlefield completely—using iron to crush opponents while wood restricted their movement. Furthermore, the Wood Release allowed Sasori to bypass his original timeline weakness of carrying scrolls. He could instantly grow, shape, and repair his wooden puppets directly on the battlefield.
It was a terrifying, self-sustaining army. Yet, Shisui had dismantled it.
The surrounding ground was a graveyard of shattered wood structures, collapsed mounds of black iron sand, and broken puppet joints. In the center of the devastation, Shisui's green Susanoo stood entirely untouched.
Beside him, Itachi's red Susanoo stood equally composed.
Itachi had faced a similarly buffed Kakuzu. Enhanced by Hashirama cells, Kakuzu's Earth Grudge Fear had evolved monstrously. He could combine his elemental masks with far greater destructive output, and by fusing his Earth and Water masks, he too could unleash Wood Release. Furthermore, the Hashirama cells allowed his hearts to regenerate from anything less than total annihilation, making his pseudo-immortality an absolute nightmare to deal with.
Yet, he had run into Itachi.
Against Itachi's flawless battle intelligence, the psychological torture of Tsukuyomi, and the absolute sealing power of the Susanoo's Sword of Totsuka, Kakuzu's extra hearts meant nothing.
Now, the two Uchiha geniuses turned their attention to the rest of the Akatsuki army.
The giant green and red avatars advanced. Their remaining opponents—lesser ninjas modified with Hashirama cells—no longer felt like a threat. The gap in power was laughable.
Shisui's Susanoo swept its weapon in a calm arc, erasing a dozen modified ninjas in a single swing. Nearby, Itachi's avatar advanced steadily, its blade cleaving through enemy formations effortlessly. It wasn't a battle; it was a slaughter. Watching them handle elite modified forces was like watching a Jonin clear out a field of Academy Genin.
Enemy lines collapsed continuously under the shockwaves of their advance.
The Konoha shinobi watching from behind could only stare in awe. They had all heard tales of Shisui of the Body Flicker and Itachi the Prodigy. But witnessing their unrestricted might was another thing entirely.
Whispers of reverence rippled through the ranks. Some unconsciously compared the duo to the Fourth Hokage, realizing that these two had reached a level that defied standard shinobi logic. Unbound by the curse of blindness, they were an unstoppable force.
And with this terrifying display, they proved an unspoken truth to the entire battlefield: The Uchiha clan remained an apex power. In terms of sheer military prestige, perhaps only one name in the world stood above them.
The Uzumaki.
But even beneath that shadow, the wake of destruction left by the twin Susanoo made one thing undeniable—the Uchiha name still commanded absolute terror.
