EMBER'S POV
Before she could make complete sense of the commotion in Nirvana and Khaos's strange questions, he was already carrying her the way one would air—and then they were flying through the air.
Literally.
When they landed they were in a room lit by multiple candles that smelt deliciously like him.
"Stay here." He commanded, and made to leave.
But she was far too panicked to allow him to leave just like that. Not when she still didn't understand the reason why the entire place was suddenly engulfed in a stampede.
So she grabbed him by his shirt. "What is happening? You must have sensed something right. And why are you suddenly asking me about my blood?"
The door to the room was thrown open instantly and Adrian walked in wordlessly, his expression tinged with glee as he grabbed a—stake?!
