Chapter 31 - Chapter 30: Siege of Viltrum.

Who would have thought such fools would invade such a place?!

The serene skies of Viltrum split abruptly, pierced by the shrill, insistent wailing of alarm systems. Red lights flashed urgently across buildings in the planet, bathing the once orderly cities in a bloody glow. Residents paused mid-task, gazes turning skyward as excitement and confusion spread like wildfire.

This usually happened when 'sacrificial lambs' brought themselves to the slaughter, as seen previously, how Anissa alone handled the pathetic excuse of an invasion that was supposed to happen on Viltrum, something that barely moved the eyebrow of the Grand Regent. It was nothing surprising on Viltrum after all, they had the rest of the universe as their enemies. It was them against the world in every literal sense.

In the heart of the academy, Anissa stepped from the polished corridor, expression cold and unfazed. "The Coalition of Planets," she murmured, a grim smirk curling at the corner of her mouth. "Predictable. Drawing out the Grand Regent was clever. But not clever enough."

Behind her, Lira moved swiftly, already assuming command. "I'll handle the academy, General," she said firmly.

Anissa gave a brief, approving nod before soaring upwards, the thunderous shockwave of her departure rattling windows and scattering dust in her wake.

High above Viltrum, Angstrom Levy floated amidst swirling, shadowy orbs flying in from portals of his making, his laughter echoing madly into the vast expanse. "Less than a minute for a response?" he mocked, watching the rapidly ascending figure. "Efficient little devils."

Anissa emerged through the clouds, joined swiftly by other Viltrumite officers flanking her sides in tight formation. Levy eyed them casually, amused rather than intimidated.

"Have you come to surrender?" Anissa demanded coldly, her voice sharp and clear over the howling winds. Real-time physiological data about Levy flooded her transparent visor—Viltrum's advanced tech confirming his negligible threat level, barely a threat even to the halfbloods. "Fighting here would be suicidal."

"Surrender?" Levy retorted theatrically. He leaned forward, face twisting with a disturbing smile. "I came here to rule."

Before Anissa could reply, Levy's orbs emitted piercing, sonic screams, disorienting the surrounding Viltrumites. Hands flew to ears in agonized defense. Only Anissa maintained visual focus, eyes locked fiercely on her opponent despite the blinding pain.

Summoning her strength, she inhaled sharply and slammed her hands together. A tremendous counter-shockwave rippled outward, shattering the orbs like glass. Fire erupted, consuming Levy in a devastating chain reaction. The surrounding orbs began exploding in chains.

"Shit!" Levy cried, plunging desperately through an abruptly opened portal.

Anissa stared, stunned by the ease of his escape. His voice echoed ominously in her ears: "This isn't over yet!"

Suddenly, the comm in Anissa's ear crackled to frantic life. "General Anissa! We're detecting multiple hostile entities—portal incursions everywhere!"

"What? Explain!" she demanded, voice tinged with urgency.

'He can't be every at the same now, can he? Even though he himself is too weak to pose a threat. It's the technology he possesses that is the real--' Anissa analysed in her head as she got real-time reports.

"Multiple hostiles! Humanoid—Viltrumite genetic markers, similar to the halfbloods, alongside enormous blue-skinned warriors!"

Anissa's heart skipped, confusion swelling dangerously. She hurtled downward through swirling clouds, halting abruptly above the city. Horror widened her eyes—utter chaos spread below.

'If he can open portals and not only can he come through them…' Anissa thought, hating the conclusion her mind was formulating.

Emerald portals disgorged Mark variants, swarming like locusts. Hulking, blue Mauler Twins emerged fully armed, unleashing brutal devastation. Buildings crumbled, panic surged, and fierce battles ignited throughout Viltrum's pristine streets.

Behind Anissa, her flanking soldiers faltered momentarily, terror etched plainly on their faces. But there was no time to hesitate. With a guttural roar, Anissa dove into the chaos, fists and limbs slicing through flesh and bone, decimating enemies before comprehension could register in their startled eyes.

Inspired by her ferocity, her comrades rallied, surging forward like avenging angels, bloodlust fueling their swift counterattack.

Deep within the academy's reinforced halls, Selena paced irritably. Distant explosions reverberated through the walls, stoking the fiery hunger for combat within her veins. Beside her, Mia and Katya exchanged anxious glances, mirroring their leader's impatience.

The class was being led to an underground bunker meant to protect the halfbloods in events like this that the Grand Regent had already accounted for and coomisioned the work of the bunker. Murmurs kept on filling the halls as they walked, guided by Lira alone as the rest of the staff ended up fighting outside until she couldn't take it no more.

"Quiet!" Lira barked, silencing the halfbloods' nervous murmurs instantly. She sighed in relief—only to jolt as the ceiling exploded violently inward.

"You Viltrumite spawn!" roared a familiar figure cloaked in hatred. Immortal, donned in an unfamiliar suit, his face contorted with raw, unfiltered malice. He charged blindly, thirsting for blood.

This was the first time the students had experienced such feelings from another person, unbridled hate and bloodlust made the hairs on their skin rise. This was a new feeling for them. Immortal had a smile on his face, proud that his presence had such an effect on the Viltrumite devils.

Lira moved impossibly fast, intercepting him mid-charge. With a swift, lethal strike, her hand sliced cleanly through Immortal's neck, decapitating him in an instant. Crimson blood splattered her pristine white uniform, staining the awed students who stared in stunned disbelief at their teacher's deadly grace.

Before Lira could process further, the roof crumbled again. Long-Haired Mark landed arrogantly, flanked by smirking Mauler Twins, eyes roaming hungrily across the academy's inhabitants.

"Interesting," A Mauler twin mocked openly, gaze lingering on the students. "An academy for freaks, I see. One with four arms, another with red hair—perfect lab rats for our experiments!"

"All freaks!" Long-Haired Mark laughed, lunging viciously toward a terrified student. Selena surged instinctively, intercepting and deflecting his punch effortlessly. Her body responded instinctively, confident and calm. She retaliated immediately, driving a powerful blow into his ribs, forcing him to double over in agony.

Without spoken command, although Selena did command Mia and Katya without words from her mouth, they reacted flawlessly, years of synchronized training guiding their precise strikes. Katya locked his right arm in an unbreakable grip, while Mia's airborne kick slammed violently into Mark's chin, sending him to the dream world in one swift motion.

"They fight back!" one Mauler Twin shouted in disbelief, aiming his plasma rifle hastily at the students.

"And they fight well." The other Mauler twin changed his gun as if getting something better situated for the given circumstance at hand.

Lira reacted immediately. She seized a chunk of fallen ceiling, lifting it effortlessly before the frightened halfbloods, intercepting a deadly barrage of plasma fire. "RUN!" she commanded urgently, advancing steadily, pushing the makeshift shield forward with overwhelming strength until she crushed the enemy beneath it, leaving nothing but pulverized remains, hearing nothing but meat turned into paste.

Just as relief flickered through her, dozens more Mauler Twins and Immortals cascaded from above, armed, enraged, thirsting for violence.

From his hidden vantage above the clouds, Angstrom Levy watched, grinning darkly. Viltrum burned gloriously beneath him, exactly as he'd envisioned. His meticulous planning, intricate manipulations, and brutal sacrifices had culminated perfectly—total chaos unleashed at last.

He laughed, savoring each distant scream, explosion, and crumbling foundation.

'Yes,' Levy thought eagerly, eyes gleaming feverishly. 'Let the slaughter unfold—let their empire tremble.'

He summoned another portal, stepping through calmly, already anticipating his next devastating move.

Levy is a menace... just a few know what he is capable of.
