Chapter 33 - Chapter 32 – Staff Room Stratagems.

We are so back this NNN!

The Mauler horde thundered closer, the ground vibrating, the walls shaking. The class leaders exchanged tense glances, preparing for the carnage to come. The corridor echoed with anticipation—a bloodbath was imminent.

And as the first Immortal barreled through the barricade, Selena's lips curled into a dangerous smile. "Let's show them what a real massacre looks like."

"But first..." Katya said as if to remind Selena they needed to make their move.

"Alright, girls. Let's get to the staff room—quickly." Selena's voice cut through the chaos like a razor, full of command and urgency. The three of them—Selena, Mia, and Katya—moved as a unit, feet barely touching the ground as they tore through abandoned hallways, streaks of sweat and adrenaline trailing behind them.

"By the left!" Mia, compact and lethal, surged forward. She smashed open the three-ton steel door to the staff room as if it were made of plywood, her curvy figure straining deliciously under her suit. The crash echoed, a promise that there would be no turning back.

Inside, the staff room was tense—a fortress and a trap depending on what the situation called for. Katya's eyes, a sultry shade of green, scanned the glowing monitors, her lips parted with the softest gasp.

"Oh my goodness, there's a lot of them... There weren't this many when we were there. How? Do we have access to live feeds outside the academy? Is this a test from the Grand Regent?" she muttered, gaze fixed on the camera feeds. Rows and rows of Mauler twins—dozens, maybe more—stormed through the academy halls. The cold blue glow of the screens painted her sharp cheekbones and the top swell of her breasts with a ghostly light. Behind her, Selena leaned over another feed, dark hair falling into her intense eyes.

"You are right. There was only one of those guys who died in teacher Lira's hands." Mia pointed to several Immortals flying with frowns on their faces, and their thirst for blood was evident in their faces.

"For the life of me, I don't know why that guy looks at us like we shat on his parade or something. If one of the girls in class looked at me that way, she would be 'corrected' not to look at me like that in her life!" Katya said with a scoff. She was not used to the kind of energy Immortal exhibited. It was like he blamed her and every other Viltrumite for his life.

"Well... maybe he is avenging his home world... like.." Mia said softly and ended her sentence as she remembered where she was. The academy, especially the staff room, could have recording devices, and if it picked up on their true quest to avenge their homeworld, they would only have death to answer before they could even.

Katya and Selena nodded in unison, acknowledging that Mia knew how to keep her mouth shut and understood her point of view as well. But that didn't mean they were about to let themselves die because others also wanted to avenge their homeworld and possibly the death of their loved ones by the hands of Viltrumites.

At this time, Lira was still fighting—seven axe-wielding Mauler twins hammering at her with supernatural ferocity. The teacher was a blur of crimson and black, blood and chalk dust. Each time Lira moved, her thighs flexed beneath her loin cloth, the outline of her powerful muscles visible even through torn fabric. She grunted, parrying one axe, ducking under another, grabbing a desk and smashing it into the skull of the nearest Mauler. Splinters and blood flew. But the Maulers were learning—each attack was smarter, faster, more coordinated.

"Those guys look like a problem." Katya voiced her opinion. She may have the toughest skin amongst her peers but would that help her out in this fight or draw out her torture?

"And they are the only blue ones that don't use projectiles. The rest are armed with plasma rifles and such. Just look at how tight they are keeping their formation... weird, but it reminds me of Anissa's classes on planetary liberation." Mia said as she stroked her chin. Even a child could see what the axe-wielding Maulers were doing and how coordinated they were; it was almost envious to the point one would feel like being a part of it.

Selena gritted her teeth, watching someone she saw as a mentor—a teacher, yes, but also a living weapon—wage a near hopeless battle. What was one more dead Viltrumite to her, nothing. But if she didn't succeed in that battle, there was no way she and the rest of the halfbloods stood a chance.

If seven could pin a Viltrumite like Lira, be it that they were a cut above the other Mauler variants, the rest would massacre the students.

"Selena! They're here! They just passed the training room!" Katya's voice rang out, both with dread and the thrill of combat. She looked incredible—every inch the warrior, her abs tight, her breasts heaving with every anxious breath. Mia and Katya always trusted Selena. They didn't question—they acted.

It was at this moment that Selena could feel the weight of leadership and the real consequences that came with it. Back when she was taking the in-world battle simulation classes with Anissa, she didn't take them too seriously. After all, if her tactics failed, that was it; she could live with that. But now, she could feel that she could lose those most loyal to her and those she considered dearest. If she gave the wrong command, she would suffer and worse, her friends could die. Selena looked dazed at the moment she was needed to act confidently, as she always does.

Selena forced herself to breathe. Her mind raced—she remembered her home, the destruction of her planet, her mother and father's last stand. They were the only three remaining after only two Viltrumites reduced the planet's population in less than a day.

'Is this what you felt, Father?' Her chest ached with the memory, her body tensing with new resolve.

Suddenly, she was interrupted by a wave of emotion—a kind of psychic aftershock.

"I know you're scared, Selena, but if anyone can survive this, it's you. You're strong... I just wish I was strong enough for you to believe in." It was Mia's voice, echoing in her mind.

Selena's eyes widened, a blush creeping over her cheeks. Her heart skipped a beat as she glanced at Mia, whose beautiful red eyes carried worry and belief, her soft lips closed as no words left her mouth.

"I already know you can read thoughts, Selena. Now what's the plan?" Katya's sultry voice interrupted, her jade reptilian eyes burned with raw ambition, her hand absently resting on the curve of her hip, dark hair cascading down her back.

Selena let herself smile. She had the best and sharpest friends in the academy, and she wasn't too surprised that Katya could use so little to come to this conclusion. Accurately guessing a person's fears in a planet were such emotions aren't tolerated and the way Selena kept asking if someone said something to her when they all have superhearing, Katya was just that smart and quick to understand that.

"I have the best with me, of course." She reached out, extending her mind—connecting their thoughts.

'What? How?' Mia's shock flashed through the link, her eyes wide and electric.

'Keep up, Mia. Wait—we can share our thoughts now?' Katya's inner voice was as playful as her smile.

'So it seems.' Selena answered, relishing the sense of unity.

'Here's the plan.' Selena projected.

'Get their attention. Draw them into the training room. We'll bottleneck them, buy time. I'll find something in here—something to turn the tide.'

Mia and Katya nodded, a silent agreement shared through sweat and telepathy. They flew out, Mia launched down the corridor, Katya's luscious curves vanished around the corner. Selena watched them go, feeling a surge of pride mingling with dread. She could do this, she had to.

She turned back to the room—rummaging through drawers, searching lockers, her eyes flicking from one staff member's stash to the next. Paperweights, lab chemicals, a service pistol from a conquered world with barely enough firepower to even harm her skin, not to mention a fully realised Viltrumite, and an ancient bottle of wine. Nothing yet that screamed "salvation."

Meanwhile, just as they confronted the horde of Maulers and Immortals, Mia and Katya took their positions. Mia pressed herself against the wall of maulers, her full chest heaving, eyes burning with battle-lust. Katya dropped into a crouch, spreading her knees for balance, her loin cloth barely covering her thick, powerful thighs as they were the first line against such a sizable army. Any decrease in morale now would only deter their mission something they were forced to learn repeatedly in their classes.
