Chapter 10 - chapter 10 she's alive

stifle a yawn, stubbornly refusing to let the tiredness show as I pour myself a glass of water from the bedside table,

it been 3 days and Carden hasn't showed up, a secret fear that followed me since childhood tears it ugly head. Cardens actions had only made me doubt him even more, I step out of the room, spotting the the second door on our floor, Sky told me it was Cardens secret room and nobody was allowed to go in. One step then another I hesitantly made my way to the door, I twisted the door nap and as expected it was lock. My heart doesn't seem to want to calm down, I dash to the room looking for anything that can help me break in, i grab one of my hair pins and hurried back to the door, after struggling for sometime, the door finally clicks open, loud steps echoed, from the stairs, my hands tremble as i held the doornab tightly, the steps were slowly approaching and I needed to think fast, " it's now or never, I pushed the door open and slips in locking it from inside, moments later the steps faded into our room. The room was pitch black, and i trail my fingers on the walls looking for the switch, luckily I got hold of it and with one push the room finally came to light, my eyes widen, the room looked exactly like our own room, same paintings, decorations and everything, I search around and spotted a huge potrate hanging above the bed, it was a drawing of mother. I blink trying to shake off the feeling of emptiness that always accompanies thought of her. I was very young when she left, I barely turned seven and the memory itself was Hazy, I brush myself back trying to get a better looked, the day on the potrate was just fews days after mother's death, how was that even possible, my heart was pounding my ears could no longer hear anything, fear of the unknown wash over me but it spurred me to soberly access the situation. I had no time for tears as loud bangs hit the door, I search around looking for anything that can be use as evidence, I stumbled against a recently use hairbrush, grabing on the hair I pulled it out forcing it into my pocket, I didn't even know why I was taking it but anything right now, could be of great help, the door finally swings open, and before me, Cardens intimidating figure stood.

The veins in his temples are bulging, his jaw set, a tight expression on his face,

" What're you doing in here. His eyes are devoid of emotions, with much effort I stop myself from visibly shuddering as he stares at me, his voice cold and monotone. I was still frozen on the spot unable to say a word, " bring her in. Sky was pulled into the room by Cardens men as she begs and sob.

"Sky... I rushed towards her but was held back by another guard,

"What's your job description, Sky sobs even more clearly scared of what Carden might do to her if she didn't answer, she looked straight into my eyes as if begging for help before speaking

" my.... job ...was to keep Young mistress away from anything, that doesn't concerns her.

" And you failed, he chuckles evily, " I like it when people fail at their jobs, his expression hardens as he sat on the bed as if waiting to watch a movie " you know what to do, he gesture to his men. Sky was drop harshly on the floor like a bag of garbage, another guard came in with two Woden sticks, " no, Carden please don't do this... punish me instead I disobeyed you not her. My screaming diverted his attention to me, 

" this is my way of punishing you little wifey, his words cut deep, each one leaving a wound deeper than any blade could inflict, doubt I never knew, now clouded my mind, leaving me defendless against his shattering revelation, " teach her to do her job properly. Sky's voice echoed almost bringing down the mansion as the guards bounce on her, hitting her from every corner. Cardens eyes locked unto me seemingly expecting some kind of reaction, he smiled when he saw what he wanted to see, I was crushed to the very beam am merely a shell devoid of even a whisper of emotions, my mind had become so numb that the shock and sadness am feeling seem like distance echoes from a past life, all I wanted now was to close my eyes and I never wake up, I sat still as I had no more tears to shed while the guards drag Sky's lifeless body out of the room,

 " take her away he waves his hands in the air and the guards grabs me by the arms leading me out of the room, I pulled back, freeing myself from their grib, I decided to ask him the one question that still haunts me, the last remnant for my pursuit for the truth.

" Where's my mother, the words left merely as a whisper but were audible enough for him to hear.

" Where I want her to be, was his last word before the guards dragged me away not giving me room to ask any more questions.
