Chapter 2 - "When Dream Becomes Reality"

The coach whistled, and the boys got their positions.

"Raise your butt! (He shouted) Bend your knees! Foot ahead of others…" The coach screamed his lungs out and wrecked his throat.

The boys started running after the loud whistle. But there was one block empty. Aidan hurriedly went towards his block, but he was late. The coach glanced, and he went closer.

"Coach!"

But before he said something in his proof, the coach yelled.

He scolded, "Being late means you'll miss the entire practice session. Is that what you want?"

The coach was a grumpy sort of person, but he didn't scold more than he expected. Rather, he punished him.

Till 3:00 pm, he kept on practicing. As well, he did so hard, even skipping his other lectures because of the punishment. He got tired but kept on practicing intensively. On the half of the track, he could not make it and took a misstep and crashed to the ground. His legs were trembling because of weakness, but there was no one for help.

He laid down, facing the sun. He was overwhelmed by the bright sunlight, his legs heavy and immobile, while a hot, burning wind robbed him of his usual grace, scorching his face.

Then he noticed the footsteps of someone coming toward him. He tilted his head to see and gasped.

Emris slowly approached, grabbing a bottle of water.

"Hey dude! Just get up. It's enough for today."

Aidan didn't pay any heed rather than staring. He opened the bottle and sprinkled some water on him. At that, he chuckled so hard and barely managed to draw out his heavy breath, then sat up, stumblingly.

By snatching the bottle from his hand, he chugged the water in one breath.

"Hey! Where were you last night?" Emris gave him a hand to stand.

"I was at my uncle's shop and slept there." He answered by loading a big breath, meanwhile his voice was heavy with tiredness.

By holding a towel from his friend, he began wiping his sweat. Suddenly, his gaze captured two girls playing tennis. They were a little far from the track, but so close to the lane where he was standing. A gasp escaped his lips as a sudden image of a girl appeared in his vision. A cold dread washed over him as he saw her, and he faced blurred motion. She was in a short skirt and visor, her laughter in the tense silence spread out everywhere. The dimples on her cheeks while laughing appeared. She was playing skillfully which gave him a pleasant treat.

Aidan couldn't make himself back. She was attractive, the perfect thing to stare at, but he went out of his emotions when his eyes caught her eyes. The moment became rigid again, his eyes were melting softly, and at last his eyes witnessed the scene of last night that was coming to be a daydream, but he was too conscious to identify the same.
