Chapter 43 - Chapter 43

"Ah! How disgusting…"

Obito lay on the ground, crying and vomiting, while the Mist Ninja also collapsed in a pool of blood.

Not far away, Rin couldn't hold it any longer and threw up, her eyes brimming with tears.

Kakashi remained silent, but finally couldn't hold it in and dry-heaved slightly before complaining, "Obito, couldn't you have just stabbed him cleanly for ten minutes before killing him?"

Takayama Haru was also speechless. Obito was indeed weak, but he still completed the mission in the end.

After this bloody baptism, they shouldn't be standing around on the battlefield anymore.

But looking at these kids, it seemed like they were in a bit too much of a hurry.

However, Obito suddenly lifted his head. His eyes were blood-red, and two kunai-like hooks rotated around his pupils.

Sharingan!

Takayama Haru was also stunned.

Obito was finally stimulated enough to open his eyes?

Kakashi, still thinking about complaining, froze for a moment as he saw the look in Obito's eyes. A sense of alarm flashed in his heart.

Had Haru-sensei deliberately made Obito awaken his Sharingan?

Kakashi's view of Haru immediately became more favorable.

Rin looked at Obito with concern. "Obito, are you okay?"

"What's wrong?"

Obito himself had no idea what had happened.

It wasn't until Obito took a quick glance at himself that he realized he had unlocked the Sharingan!

"No wonder I can see chakra flow! This is the Sharingan."

Kakashi couldn't help but envy. "I heard the Sharingan can do genjutsu. Can you do it?"

Obito snorted and arrogantly replied, "Of course."

"Well, show me then!"

"Hmph, I'm afraid you'll faint if I use it. Let's hold off for now."

Takayama Haru rolled his eyes. What a boastful little brat.

Could it be that Obito really had the luck of the chosen one to unlock such a power?

Team 7 bickered all the way until they finally reached the border of the Land of Fire.

Before them stretched a bay, with a bridge connecting both sides.

On the opposite side of the bridge was the Land of Water.

The Land of Water consisted of a group of islands located to the east of the Land of Fire.

Thus, there were three or four bridges linking the Land of Water and the Land of Fire.

The mist on the bridge was thick, and through the haze, a faint red hue could be seen, resembling blood—wide enough to span five fingers.

It was quite unnerving.

No wonder people say that the Hidden Mist Village is constantly shrouded in blood mist.

Mr. Rin immediately turned and asked, "Sensei, the bridge ahead is covered in mist. Should we go in?"

Takayama Haru nodded and said, "Of course. If we don't, are you planning to swim across?"

Kakashi calmly added, "But there might be people on the bridge."

Takayama Haru replied indifferently, "So what if there are people? It doesn't matter. Whether there's anyone or not, we need to cross."

Obito stood up, squinting his eyes and looking ahead. Suddenly, he felt a slight dizziness.

"There's someone ahead."

Rin excitedly asked, "Obito, did you see him?"

"I can vaguely see the chakra flow, similar to the two Mist Ninjas from earlier."

As he spoke, he slipped and nearly fell.

"Obito, are you okay?"

"I'm fine."

Takayama Haru said nonchalantly, "It's fine. Don't use too much chakra, or you'll risk going blind."

"Ah? Haru-sensei, don't scare me!"

Obito's face went pale immediately.

"I'm not scaring you. If you practice more ninjutsu and body techniques, you'll be fine."

"Ahhh…"

Obito hadn't even had the chance to savor the feeling of being a hero before Takayama Haru's words hit him, making him feel as if he had fallen into the deepest pit.

He thought to himself, "Haru must be lying to me. I've never heard of chakra eyes causing blindness."

Was Takayama Haru jealous of him unlocking the Sharingan?

The exact details weren't clear to Haru, but he was sure he hadn't made a mistake.

Besides, along the way, Takayama Haru must have realized that without anyone guiding him, Obito had unlocked the Sharingan by himself. This made him act like a sentry, detecting chakra flow. If there was a problem, they'd be in deep trouble.

As for Kamui, who knew when Obito would unlock that power?

"Where's the enemy?"

"Right there, just above the bridge."

Takayama Haru rolled his eyes. "Just say it! Why are you pointing and gesturing? You're just going to scare them away!"

Kakashi muttered, "Idiot."

"Ah!"

Obito was on the verge of a breakdown, being mocked for awakening the Sharingan!

"Haru-sensei, you're a demon!"

As they spoke, the thick mist on the bridge gradually dissipated.

Takayama Haru shrugged and said, "See? I told you, you scared them away."

Obito protested, "Sensei, that was a tactic to make them surrender without a fight! Have you ever read The Art of War?"

"Are you quoting The Art of War to me? Have you ever read The Art of War or Romance of the Three Kingdoms?"

Obito, you fool, what are those?

He'd never heard of them.

"I didn't see anything. Don't pretend to know what you're talking about. Let's go."

Takayama Haru flicked Obito's forehead lightly and smiled as he walked away.

Just as they were about to cross the bridge, three strange human corpses suddenly emerged from the ground.

"Ah! Sensei!"

The three kids gasped as they watched the terrifying white humanoid figures merge into one, turning into a spiked white creature.

Even Obito, who had just awakened his Sharingan, was nearly brought to tears from fear.

Takayama Haru was speechless. Obito had just killed someone, yet he still had the courage to react this way…

When viewed from the opposite angle, this wasn't white at all.

On the way out of Konoha, Takayama Haru had been feeling like something was missing.

Now that he saw the White Zetsu, Haru finally realized—it had been all along. During the time he'd been fusing the Senju Hashirama cards, he hadn't been noticed by the Uchiha's undead?

It seemed like it wasn't that they hadn't been noticed, but rather, they had been secretly observed.
