Chapter 39 - Thirty Thousand Flying Daggers?

"Everyone, for the foreseeable future, this will be our battlefield."

Li Anshi sat at the head, with Tsunade seated beside him.

To his lower left were the Jonin from the Nara, Akimichi, and Yamanaka clans.

To his lower right was the Jonin from the Uchiha clan.

"In the last battle, the Cloud ninjas suffered considerable losses. Their top combatant, the Two-Tails Jinchuriki, was killed by me, and the Third Raikage was severely injured by me as well. Barring any surprises, the Cloud ninjas are unlikely to invade the Land of Fire again for some time."

"If they dare to come, I will eliminate all Cloud ninjas in the shortest possible time!"

Seeing the unease among the four Jonin remaining here, Li Anshi offered words of reassurance.

It couldn't be helped; with only five Jonin stationed at a single front, who wouldn't feel apprehensive?

Of course, whether it was the Ino-Shika-Cho Jonin or the Uchiha Jonin, they also knew that as long as Li Anshi was present, this Konoha front wouldn't fall.

After all, everyone who had witnessed Li Anshi fight in the previous battle knew that numbers were meaningless before him.

As long as Li Anshi threw his flying dagger, a ninja was bound to die.

Furthermore, what terrified everyone even more was that Li Anshi's weapons were flying daggers, even smaller than kunai.

Even an ordinary Genin could easily throw several hundred kunai.

And judging by Li Anshi's chakra, he couldn't possibly be just a Genin.

In fact, some Jonin's chakra reserves couldn't even compare to Li Anshi's.

In other words, if Li Anshi wished, he could potentially throw tens of thousands of flying daggers without interruption.

Even if Li Anshi didn't carry that many daggers himself, with so many ninjas on the battlefield, who didn't have a dozen or so kunai?

Even if he switched from daggers to kunai, no one believed Li Anshi would be significantly weaker.

Numbers were meaningless before Li Anshi.

And the strong...

Well, even a powerhouse like the rampaging Two-Tails was instantly killed by Li Anshi's dagger.

The Third Raikage, with the strongest defense, was also severely injured by Li Anshi's single strike.

From this perspective, killing beings like rampaging Tailed Beasts and Kage-level powerhouses required Li Anshi to expend a certain amount of chakra.

No one knew how many Kage-level or stronger individuals it would take to exhaust Li Anshi's chakra.

If the Cloud ninjas weren't fools, they simply wouldn't attack while Li Anshi was stationed at this front.

However, despite this reasoning, the four remaining Jonin still felt uneasy.

The Cloud side still had at least forty Jonin, and the Eight-Tails Jinchuriki was unharmed.

If the Cloud ninjas attacked, they certainly wouldn't concentrate all their powerhouses together but would spread them out.

In that case, they might face multiple enemies simultaneously.

Under such circumstances, could they protect themselves until Li Anshi eliminated all the opposing ninjas?

Of course, they wouldn't voice such concerns aloud.

"We acknowledge Commander Li's strength."

"However, the Jonin and some formidable Chunin from this camp were almost all taken by Lord Third to the Land of Earth battlefield."

"If the Cloud ninjas attack, before Lord Anshi completely routs them, I worry that the remaining ninjas here will suffer heavy casualties."

Nara Shikafuku stated.

The other three Jonin quickly nodded in agreement.

Indeed, as Jonin Nara said, they weren't afraid of death, but worried about excessive casualties among Konoha's ninjas.

After all, the elites of this front had been taken away by the Third Hokage, leaving only about thirty ordinary Chunin and over six hundred Genin.

"Mm, that is indeed a problem."

Li Anshi nodded.

His original goal was to reduce the sacrifices of Konoha ninjas.

Now that he was the commander of this front, if possible, Li Anshi didn't want any more casualties among the ninjas here.

"How about this, Jonin Nara."

"During this period, you will issue commands from here."

"Jonin Yamanaka and I will set up an outpost one kilometer ahead of the camp."

"As soon as Jonin Yamanaka senses unfamiliar ninjas approaching, I will eliminate them as quickly as possible."

"Even if the Cloud ninjas launch a large-scale assault on our camp, as long as I have enough flying daggers, within this one-kilometer distance, I am confident I can kill over three thousand ninjas."

Hiss...

As Li Anshi finished speaking, the five people in the tent gasped sharply, looking at Li Anshi with terrified eyes.

One kilometer – at ninja speed, even for Genin, it wouldn't take more than a minute and a half.

For Jonin, perhaps only thirty seconds.

Even calculating based on one hundred seconds, could Li Anshi kill thirty people per second?

What kind of efficiency was that?

In fact, Li Anshi wasn't bluffing.

Indeed, even Li Anshi probably couldn't throw thirty daggers in one second.

But who dictated that one flying dagger could only kill one person?

With Li Anshi's current mastery of the Little Li Flying Dagger, a single thrown dagger could change direction three times. With proper calculation, killing thirty people with one throw was entirely possible.

Thus, if the Cloud ninjas attacked without at least ten thousand troops, they posed little threat to Konoha.

"Jonin Akimichi, after Jonin Yamanaka and I determine our outpost location, I'll need to trouble you to move some of the camp's kunai there."

"Jonin Nara, I had the blacksmith in the village forge over thirty thousand flying daggers for me. Please issue a mission shortly for three Chunin teams to return to the village and bring these daggers here."

"I understand, Lord Anshi."

Nara Shikafuku wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and quickly agreed.

Over thirty thousand flying daggers? Did Commander Anshi intend to wipe out the entire Cloud Village?

It was no joke. Even Konoha, the strongest village, had less than ten thousand registered resident ninjas. Even including all the unregistered ninjas from the clans, the total wouldn't exceed thirteen thousand.

After a year of fighting, Nara Shikafuku didn't know how many ninjas the clans had left.

But Konoha currently had no more than five thousand registered ninjas.

Nara Shikafuku dared say that if news of the mission to transport Commander Li Anshi's thirty thousand daggers leaked, the Cloud side would likely risk everything to stop it.

And once those thirty thousand daggers reached the battlefield, the Cloud Village, upon receiving the news, would probably sue for peace immediately.

The Cloud Village didn't even have thirty thousand ninjas in total; not enough for Commander Li Anshi to kill.

"Wait, Anshi, where did you get the money to forge over thirty thousand flying daggers?"

While the other Jonin were reeling from Li Anshi's revelation, Tsunade suddenly paused, then jumped up, grabbing Li Anshi's collar with both hands and demanding an answer.
