RAIN POV

The forest was a blur of shadows and snarls as Batista and I tore through the trees, our breaths coming in sharp bursts. My legs burned, but I didn't slow down—not with the sound of claws ripping into the dirt behind us. Victoria's wolves were right on our heels.

"Faster!" Batista barked, glancing over his shoulder.

"I am fast!" I shot back, my voice rough with anger and adrenaline. "Don't trip and leave me, or I swear I'll haunt you!"

We swerved between trees, ducking under branches that clawed at our clothes. The scent of blood and fur was thick in the air, and my heart pounded like a war drum in my chest. But we weren't just running—we were leading them. Straight into our trap.

When we burst into the clearing, the moonlight spilled over the place like silver fire. This was it—the site we'd set days ago, just in case things went bad.

They had gone bad.
