Rain's POV
The moment our eyes locked, my stomach tightened—not out of fear, but pure disbelief.
She didn't even blink. No shock. No gasp. No curse under her breath. Nothing.
It was like she had been expecting me all along.
"How the hell does she know I'm alive?" The thought burned in my mind. I'd crossed wastelands, clawed my way out of the Well of Mystery, survived curses and hunger, and yet… she stood there, calm as still water, lips curling into that arrogant smile I hated more than anything.
"Rain let me guess," she said, her voice dripping with mockery, "you came here for revenge. Imagine—surviving hell, only to end up dead at our hands… again."
"So you did know I was alive," I shot back, my voice low and sharp.
