Alpha Batista POV
Eric was skeptical at first, but he finally agreed. That night, we made our first move. Big mistake. It was also the night we got caught by one of those nasty, freaky beasts.
We left the camp when the moon was high, moving fast through the woods. Eric had his sword, Greg brought his twin axes, and the two she-wolves, Mira and Kael, stuck close behind us. The forest was dead quiet, and the deeper we went, the weirder it got. The trees looked like skeletons. And the ground… bones everywhere. Actual bones.
"This place is cursed," Eric muttered.
"No kidding," I shot back, nerves tight.
Then we saw it.
A tall, thin figure standing in the clearing ahead. At first, I thought it was a man. But no — when it turned, it had three mouths and like eight eyes all over its face. Some of those mouths were whispering. Whispering things I couldn't understand.
"Oh hell no," Greg breathed.
