Chapter 408 - 408. Step By Step, Not Overnight

No matter how many days were spent here, as long as one could persevere, the results would be remarkably obvious.

This waterfall was exceptionally large.

Not only did it stand at least ten thousand meters tall, but its width spanned thirty to fifty meters. Such breadth meant it could easily accommodate several Pokémon training here simultaneously. However, few Pokémon—and even fewer people—could actually endure it. Only those with extraordinarily powerful constitutions, or those with special talents who needed to specialize in this particular aspect of training, could withstand this immense pressure.

Before Lucario began his training, Roy had already offered him a reminder.

"I know you desperately want to become powerful quickly, but you must understand that whether it's your reaction ability or the power your body can store, everything accumulates bit by bit. So training and the accumulation of strength must be done step by step."

"We're not afraid of how much time it takes. What worries me is that you might injure yourself in your haste. There are things that can harm your body. Right now, your body is stronger than most Pokémon, but it's not invincible enough to withstand everything."

The blue light surrounding Lucario's body intensified slightly, and he simultaneously projected that Aura onto his master's consciousness: "Master, I understand this can't be rushed, but I urgently need strength. Through this training, I can not only improve my defensive and offensive abilities, but I can also master the evolved version of my Aura power so that I can wield this special energy proficiently."

"So I'll be careful about this, but I also very much hope that these things on my hands and feet will no longer become hindrances and shackles to me."

The restraints on Lucario's paws and legs functioned like weighted bracelets and anklets, creating pressure that adjusted according to the strength settings. When no light emanated from the bands, it indicated that the pressure had been released to its maximum level.

The result Lucario wanted to achieve was simple: when these weights were set to maximum pressure, they would cause him no hindrance whatsoever. Reaching that point might not take too much time.

However, if he raised all the pressure to the highest level at once, it wouldn't make his training results improve—instead, it would directly cause significant hindrance and damage to his body. That was something Roy didn't want to see, though he also hoped Lucario possessed enough self-control in this regard.

As his trainer, Roy certainly understood how stubborn his Pokémon could be in his desire to grow stronger.

But this couldn't be rushed, and besides, there was nothing urgent for them to accomplish right now. Improving strength was important, but it was definitely an extremely time-consuming process.

"We'll use the old method this time. Let him adapt underwater for a few days, then gradually increase the intensity. You all know his stubbornness. Go find more stones and logs."

The other Pokémon departed one by one after accepting their master's mission. At least in this area, for the next few days, it would be absolutely peaceful here.

Roy didn't want anyone disturbing his Pokémon's training either.

The restraints on Lucario's body had already been replaced once, and what now adorned him was an advanced version, so the pressure it could generate was even greater.

The only one who hadn't left was Zeraora, who wanted to challenge Lucario and prove its own strength. But now that Lucario had gone beneath the waterfall to train, Zeraora became the one with nothing to do. The Pokémon around Roy had basically all disappeared, supposedly searching for stones and wooden materials.

So what were Zeraora and Roy discussing here?

No matter what kind of language or sounds a Pokémon made, it could be transformed into words Roy could understand through the power of Aura that he possessed.

So even when he didn't speak normally, Roy's thoughts could be conveyed to every Pokémon's mind like a direct command.

The power of Aura was truly magical.

"Aren't you worried as his trainer?"

Roy replied calmly, somewhat puzzled: "I don't know what you're talking about. As his trainer, I acknowledge my responsibility, but what should I be worried about? Are you concerned he won't get any results from this training session? Or are you worried about his safety?"

Zeraora continued questioning: "Of course, what I'm worried about isn't his safety, but won't doing this truly harm his body? A Pokémon's body is much stronger than a human's, but under the impact of this water flow for several days straight—and it seems you still want to intensify his training through some strengthening methods—is it really possible to manage all these things properly as a human?"

Hearing these doubts and concerns, Roy found them easy to understand.

As a fellow Pokémon, Zeraora worrying about Lucario was understandable. After all, humans were humans, and Pokémon were Pokémon—two completely different species.

Even if a very deep bond could form between them, such bonds still seemed unworthy or unbelievable in the eyes of some Pokémon. After all, they had never experienced this kind of connection in their lives, so naturally they didn't want to believe in its strength.

Roy sighed quietly, then touched Zeraora's shoulder gently and conveyed his answer directly into the Mythical Pokémon's mind.

"Of course I wholeheartedly support him finding more powerful experiences to refine himself, but it's not easy to find Pokémon as powerful as you—or stronger than you—in this world. The only realistic possibility is to discover these kinds of natural training environments in relatively remote places like this."

"Because only this type of training method that borders on self-punishment can make his body achieve the best results. This is the path he's chosen for himself, not something I've forced him to do."

"As his trainer, I can only respect his decisions and fully support his actions. That's what a qualified trainer should do. And I'll watch over him from the side to ensure he doesn't choose to do anything reckless."
