[Year X791]
~ With Lucy ~
While Flare remained frozen under Shisui's terrifying gaze, something just as dangerous began building in the arena below.
The threat hadn't been directed at her. It had been aimed at an innocent child, a little girl whose only crime was cheering for her guild with pure, unbridled joy. The realization hit her hard, and with it came a rage unlike anything she'd ever experienced.
Her fists clenched at her sides as fury built in her chest, hot and righteous and absolutely unforgiving. If Shisui hadn't been there, if he hadn't seen what was happening, if he'd been even a second too late...
The thought was unbearable.
"You would harm an innocent girl, just to get one over me?" Lucy's voice carried across the arena with crystal clarity. The crowd fell silent, sensing the shift in atmosphere as the blonde mage's magical pressure began to spike.
Flare finally snapped out of her frozen terror, but when she turned to face Lucy, she found herself staring into the same eyes that burned with cold fire. The fear that Shisui had instilled in her moments before was similar to the promise of retribution she saw in Lucy's gaze.
"I. Will. Not. FORGIVE YOU!" Lucy screamed, her voice echoing off the arena walls as her magical energy exploded outward in visible waves.
Open, Gate of the Twins! Gemini!
The celestial spirits materialized in a burst of golden light, its twin forms hovering expectantly as they awaited their master's command. The crowd buzzed with anticipation, wondering what strategy Lucy would employ next.
"I need you to transform into me." Lucy requested, her voice calm despite the rage coursing through her veins.
There was a moment of awkward silence as Gemini complied with the request, transforming into a perfect replica of Lucy. Unfortunately, their interpretation of "perfect replica" included replicating her exact state when she'd last bathed, complete with bathing towel.
"Not like that!" Lucy shouted, her cheeks flushing red as nervous laughter rippled through the crowd. The brief moment of levity did nothing to diminish Lucy's resolve, and the arena fell silent once more as both versions of her took their positions side by side.
"Stars far and wide that measure and open the heavens." Both Lucy's began in perfect unison. "With thy radiance, reveal thy form to me!"
A magic circle formed beneath their feet, brilliant white light washing over the arena as the incantation continued. In the Blue Pegasus competitor's stand, Hibiki's eyes widened with shock and awe.
"Incredible…" He breathed. "She's actually mastered it. The ultimate spell of the stars."
The crowd fell into a trance-like silence as the magical pressure continued to build. Even Flare seemed momentarily mesmerized by the display, though fear still dominated her expression as she realized she was facing something far beyond her ability to counter.
"O Tetrabiblios." The twin Lucy's continued, their voices rising with power and authority. "I am the ruler of the stars. The aspect is complete. Open the raging, tumultuous gate!"
The brilliant light intensified until it was almost blinding, forcing spectators to shield their eyes as the very fabric of reality seemed to bend around the casting mages. The arena floor cracked under the weight of magical pressure, and several people in the front rows instinctively leaned back in their seats.
Suddenly, the world changed.
Flare found herself standing not in the familiar arena, but in what appeared to be a realm of pure starlight. The ground beneath her feet was like polished obsidian, reflecting the countless points of light that surrounded them in all directions as eighty-eight orbs of celestial power hung in the void around Lucy
"With all eighty-eight heavenly bodies… Shining!" Both Lucy's declared, their eyes beginning to shine with the same light that emanated from the stellar orbs around them.
The orbs responded to their command while Flare could only watch in terror as the full weight of Lucy's power prepared to descend upon her.
URANOMETRIA!
What followed next could only be described as collapsing star with all eighty-eight heavenly bodies moving as one, streaking toward Flare in trails of pure starlight that painted gorgeous arcs across the battlefield. Where the orbs struck, explosions of light bloomed like cosmic flowers, each one adding to the growing cloud of dust and energy that filled the arena. The continuous barrage created a rhythm all on its own, a drumbeat of destruction that spoke to the absolute finality of Lucy's judgment.
When it finally ended, the sudden silence felt almost oppressive after such a sustained display of power.
As the dust settled and the cosmic realm faded back to normal reality, a single figure remained standing in the centre of the arena. Lucy stood tall and proud, her breathing steady despite having just cast one of the most demanding spells she knew of. At her feet, Flare lay unconscious, her body showing the clear signs of someone who had been thoroughly and decisively defeated.
"The match is over! The winner is Fairy Tail's Lucy Heartfilia!" Chapati's voice cracked with excitement as he made the official announcement.
The crowd erupted into deafening cheers, their voices carrying across Domus Flau as they celebrated the incredible display they'd just witnessed. Common folk throughout the arena turned to their neighbours, discussing whether Fairy Tail might actually be serious contenders this year with the return of their lost members.
"And just like that, we've levelled the points with Sabertooth!" Natsu screamed at the top of his lungs, his voice somehow carrying over the crowd's roar. "Way to go, Lucy!"
When his words reached her, Lucy turned toward the Fairy Tail Team A stand and flashed him a brilliant smile along with an enthusiastic thumbs up. The simple gesture sent another wave of cheers through the Fairy Tail supporters.
The mood was somewhat dampened when Gajeel's voice cut through the celebration with characteristic bluntness.
"They still have a battle in hand, flame-brain."
The reminder that Sabertooth would have another opportunity to score points sparked an immediate argument between Natsu and Gajeel, their bickering drawing laughter from the crowd as spectators enjoyed the dynamic between the dragon slayers.
Lucy could only sigh at her guild mates' antics, but her expression remained warm with affection. As the medical team arrived to transport Flare to the infirmary, she took a moment to look up at the supporter's stand where Shisui was playing happily with little Asuka, his demeanour now a perfect contrast to the deadly killer instinct he'd displayed minutes earlier.
'Thank you, Shisui…' She thought gratefully, her silent words carrying all the emotion she couldn't express aloud. With one final wave to the crowd, she made her way back toward her team's stand, her first victory in the Grand Magic Games complete.
