Chapter 145: Secrets in the Snow
The snowstorm had quieted overnight, leaving behind a soft, eerie silence blanketing the entire forest like a spell. The mountains loomed quietly beyond the frost-kissed trees, as if holding their breath alongside everyone in the cabin.
Sasha stirred before the others, untangling herself from the massive fur pelt draped over her body. Her limbs ached from the intensity of the night before—emotionally and physically—but something tugged at her more than the soreness. A pressure. A feeling. A whisper of something not quite right.
She sat up slowly. Rion's arm had been wrapped loosely around her waist, but he didn't stir as she pulled away. Alec and Lucien were asleep, too, tangled on opposite sides of the warm room, looking almost peaceful for once. Sasha tiptoed around them, grabbed one of Lucien's oversized sweaters, and slid into her boots before heading out.
