Chapter 137: The Luna's Bloodline

The moonlight filtered softly through the arched windows of the ancient hall, painting silvery streaks across the stone floor. I had never stepped into this part of the Nightshade castle before—not until now, when so much of the past had suddenly become relevant to our future.
I stood at the threshold, my fingers brushing against the cold wood of the doorframe. Behind me, Kael and Draven waited silently. Damon hadn't returned yet—whatever errand took him into the shadows, he hadn't shared it with the rest of us. I felt his absence more deeply than I wanted to admit.
The room smelled faintly of sage, ash, and something older—like time itself had folded here. Scrolls lined the walls in neat vertical stacks, most of them frayed at the edges. An enormous tapestry hung above a blackened hearth, its design woven with wolves, moons, and fire.
