Chapter 134 : Claimed in the dark
Lyra's heartbeat thudded in her ears as the tension between the alphas thickened like storm clouds ready to collide. It had been barely a few hours since the attack, but the aftermath continued to coil around her like a noose. She stood in the center of the pack's main hall, flanked by Ezra and Kian, with Cassian pacing nearby like a caged beast.
"They're pushing us," Cassian growled, his arms folded tightly across his chest. His voice was low, but the rage vibrating through it was unmistakable. "This wasn't just a scouting mission. They knew we'd retaliate, and they wanted that."
Kian's jaw tensed. "They want war."
Ezra, standing unnaturally still, said nothing for a long moment. His silver eyes flicked to Lyra's face, searching. "We need to move first. We can't wait for another ambush."
