The sound of leaves rustling under hurried footsteps echoed through the twilight forest. Dusk painted the skies in deep shades of indigo and violet, casting elongated shadows that danced across the bark of ancient trees. Freya ran, barefoot, her heart hammering in her chest, a mix of adrenaline, fear, and something else she couldn't name.
Behind her, not far, came the scent of fur, moss, and blood.
