After spending several days on Blood God Star and learning about the general situation of the Lucas family, Caspian didn't hesitate to leave and embark on his journey to the Extraterritorial Battlefield.
Within human territory, there are eight advanced bases for the Extraterritorial Battlefield. These eight artificial stars serve as key transit points, continuously transporting massive numbers of cosmic troops to the war front. The one closest to the Ghost Universe Country is Azure Dragon Star.
"We're here."
"That's Azure Dragon Star," said Caspian with a smile from within the control room of his sleek, dark spaceship.
Ahead of them, suspended in the vast, star-strewn sky, was the enormous artificial star: Azure Dragon Star. It wasn't a naturally formed star but an immense man-made fortress created by the powerhouses of the human race. With a diameter of over a million kilometers, Azure Dragon Star was more than just a base—it was a massive space fortress capable of withstanding even attacks from ordinary Universe Venerables.
"Beep."
"Master, a guidance signal has been received from Azure Dragon Star," the spaceship's AI announced.
Caspian nodded slightly. "Connect to the signal and proceed into Azure Dragon Star as per their instructions."
While on Blood God Star he could act as he pleased, the same couldn't be said here. Azure Dragon Star was a highly secure military base. Any unauthorized behavior would trigger powerful technological weapons capable of killing even King-level beings without mercy.
Whoosh!
The Void Shadow ship swiftly flew toward Azure Dragon Star. Simultaneously, Caspian reported his strength and background.
"Human. Virtual Universe Company. Marquis-level Undying."
In reality, most individuals who come to Azure Dragon Star to enter the Extraterritorial Battlefield are World Lords, Domain Lords, and other warriors below the Undying level. Undying powerhouses are a rare sight—perhaps one would appear every few decades. As for Marquis-level Undying Gods, even rarer still. Only once in several centuries or even millennia might such a being choose Azure Dragon Star as an entry point to the battlefield.
On the spaceship docking platform of Azure Dragon Star…
Caspian flew out of the ship and instantly put it away. At the same time, several other spaceships landed. Their doors opened, and the moment the warriors onboard caught sight of Caspian in his light-golden armor, they instinctively felt a chill.
"An Undying God!"
Everyone instinctively stepped aside, bowing in respect.
"Respected Undying God, welcome to Azure Dragon Star," a charming female receptionist with a furry tail greeted him respectfully.
"Mm." Caspian gave a slight nod. "I intend to enter the Extraterritorial Battlefield. Lead the way."
…
In a vast plaza over a hundred kilometers in diameter, thousands of warriors—World Lords, Domain Lords, and Universe-levels—were gathered, idly waiting.
Teleportation via God Kingdom is extremely costly. Hence, Azure Dragon Star, as a logistics base, always gathered a certain number of warriors before initiating a teleportation. Generally, at least 100 World Lords were needed before activating a teleportation to one of the battlefields.
"It's so boring, big brother. I don't know how much longer we'll have to wait," complained a World Lord with a lightning-shaped mark between his eyebrows.
His companion, who had a teardrop-shaped mark symbolizing Water Law recognition, replied calmly, "Just be patient. It shouldn't take more than ten days to gather a hundred World Lords."
"That's all we can do…"
"Extraterritorial Battlefield—90% death rate. A real meat grinder. I'm actually kind of looking forward to it…"
As they chatted, two Undying Gods entered. One of them had a terrifyingly fierce aura and was covered in black fluff, resembling a creature made of steel. The other wore light-golden armor, radiating a murderous presence like mountains of corpses and rivers of blood. Behind them, three Azure Dragon Star staff members followed.
"Universe levels, gather here."
"Domain Lords, this way."
"World Lord warriors, over here."
The three staff members shouted, organizing the waiting warriors. Slowly, the massive gate to the teleportation chamber began to open.
The gathered World Lords were both shocked and excited. While thrilled they didn't have to wait any longer, they were also curious—what had triggered such an unusual early activation?
"Could it be due to that light-golden armored Undying God?" they whispered amongst themselves.
The ape-like Undying smiled and addressed the group. "World Lord warriors, normally we would wait until one hundred of you are gathered before initiating teleportation. However, Lord Caspian is now headed to the Extraterritorial Battlefield. Therefore, the teleportation will commence immediately, and you'll go with him."
The World Lords were enlightened.
Azure Dragon Star might make World Lords and other lower-tier warriors wait, but it would never delay an Undying God. The arrival of someone like Caspian automatically triggered the process.
"Undying God… Such transcendent status!" many World Lords thought with envy.
Despite already holding high positions in their respective universe countries, these World Lords had risked their lives to enter the Extraterritorial Battlefield. Why?
To break through and become Undying Gods themselves. Only then could they hope to exist eternally.
The ape-like Undying's expression turned serious. "But understand—this isn't a place where you can act as you please. The army has rules!"
Everyone quieted, listening closely.
"Before departure, we will conduct a formal authority-granting ceremony."
Through the ape-man's detailed explanations, the World Lords learned the military structure of the Extraterritorial Battlefield. Before entering, every warrior would be evaluated and ranked, with status and permissions granted accordingly.
World Lords were classified into three ranks:Ordinary World Lord WarriorElite World Lord WarriorWorld Lord War GeneralOnly World Lords who had been acknowledged by the Origin Laws were considered Elite World Lords. As for War Generals, they were elite among elites—powerhouses with unique skills, some even capable of standing up to Undying Gods.
In the original story, when Tony entered the Extraterritorial Battlefield, he had been rated as a World Lord War General!
Soon, evaluations were complete. Most World Lords present were recognized as Elite World Lord Warriors.
"The authority granting ceremony is complete."
The ape-like Undying's voice echoed throughout the plaza. "Follow me. You will all be teleported shortly. This war involves massive deployments of warriors. There are eleven major battlefields beyond human territory. Collectively, they are called the Extraterritorial Battlefields."
"You are being assigned to the Ninth Battlefield."
Caspian's eyes narrowed slightly. "The Ninth Battlefield? The one with a 99% average death rate—the deadliest among all battlefields? Known as the Boundless Purgatory?"
"In the original story, Tony was assigned to the Seventh Battlefield, if I remember right…"
