Three days passed swiftly.
Caspian finally arrived at the Nine Nether Star Region, a battlefield specially designated for immortal gods!
The sleek black spacecraft he commanded slowly glided into the region, a vast expanse littered with fragmented stars and the wreckage of ancient battles.
Caspian issued a calm order to the spacecraft's artificial intelligence: "Activate the detection instruments."
"Yes, Master. Detection instruments activated," the AI responded promptly.
This detection device, a rare treasure acquired from the Ghost Secret Realm, was worth more than ten million yuan units. Typically, only king-level immortal gods had access to such equipment.
In the Nine Nether Star Region, even marquis-level immortals rarely showed up, let alone kings. As a result, Caspian's detector was undoubtedly the most advanced on the field.
When used to locate enemies, no other device could match its precision. When used for concealment, no one could uncover the user's position.
The detector immediately scanned and mapped a range of one billion kilometers, displaying every bit of data onto the central control screen of the spacecraft.
"Two world masters detected," Caspian noted, staring at the screen.
These were two massive figures over forty meters tall. They resembled upright lizards, covered in dark brown scales, with eight arms on their upper torsos, each ending in razor-sharp claws.
"They're part of the Dark Lizard Clan—a vassal race of the Mechanical Clan," Caspian recognized them immediately and quickly lost interest.
Killing world masters wouldn't count toward his blind box mission objectives. Besides, world masters were beneath him.
"Keep searching," he instructed.
The spacecraft silently passed by the star fragments where the two Dark Lizard Clan members were hidden, venturing deeper into the Nine Nether Star Region.
The two world masters had no idea that a being of terrifying strength had just passed within range, undetected.
…
As the spacecraft continued its journey, it crossed paths with armies of different races—world masters, domain lords, and cosmic-level warriors of various appearances and forms. These diverse and unusual beings expanded Caspian's horizons.
The original universe housed four peak races: Human, Demon, Mechanical, and Zerg. Yet, these four races occupied only a tiny portion of the universe. The rest was home to billions of other species.
Of course, the regions controlled by the four peak races were the most fertile grounds for producing geniuses.
During his journey, Caspian's detector also identified many powerful beings from the Human race and its subordinate species.
In the outer battlefield, all warriors were grouped into four main factions. Whether they were human-aligned alien races or non-human species who had paid an enormous price to join the human side for training, they were recognized as part of the human faction.
If Caspian's main consciousness had remained connected to the virtual universe, it would've revealed the locations of all comrades and allies within one billion kilometers.
The battlefield version of the virtual universe network provided two critical functions:Display the coordinates of comrades and allies within a billion kilometers.Send a distress signal in times of danger, reaching all human and allied forces within a 10-billion-kilometer radius.Additional features included contacting higher-ups and calculating military merits.
"The Nine Nether Star Region spans more than ten light-years. Despite countless powerhouses fighting here, they're scattered so thinly!" Caspian sighed from the command seat. Several days had passed, and he hadn't encountered a single alien immortal.
"No rush. I have plenty of time," he muttered to himself.
…
Meanwhile, two billion kilometers away, a violent battle broke out in the starry expanse.
On one side were five human world masters leading an army of thousands of domain lords and cosmic-level warriors. On the opposing side was a colossal blue wolf, dozens of kilometers tall, with a length exceeding fifty kilometers.
Standing proudly in space, the wolf's fur shimmered with a smooth, radiant gloss. Each step it took froze entire sectors of the starry sky, as icy waves emanated in all directions—like a titan of frost wreaking havoc upon the cosmos.
Though the humans had numbers—five world masters and thousands of troops—the threat they faced was no ordinary foe. The blue wolf was a demon immortal god.
Wolves were a common species among the demons. The Sky Wolves, in particular, ranked among the eighteen royal families.
Though this wolf wasn't a member of the Sky Wolves, its presence as an immortal god alone was enough to cause dread.
The battle commenced as the wolf unleashed its law domain. Snowflakes began falling across ten thousand kilometers of space, while countless ice prisms materialized in the void.
Rumble~~~~
Ice and snow swirled, forming immense jade dragons that charged toward the human forces. Domain lords fought desperately, but cosmic-level warriors were instantly encased in ice.
"Calling for help! We've encountered a demon immortal with the strength of an immortal army commander!" a message burst from the army's communication system into the virtual universe network, alerting all allies within 10 billion kilometers.
With the signal sent, the five world masters exchanged determined looks. "Prepare to fight!"
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Five different world projections appeared—Dark World, Flame World, Thunder World, and others—confronting the law domain of the blue wolf. "We'll hold this demon off. Everyone else, gather the cosmic-level warriors into your world rings!"
The world masters didn't hesitate. Drawing their original force weapons, they charged toward the blue wolf while ordering the domain lords to retreat and protect the weaker troops.
Most world masters in the outer battlefield had been acknowledged by the origin laws. These five were no exception—especially their leader, a world master general.
A world master general supported by four elite world masters could stall an immortal god—if only for a brief moment.
Without support from a human immortal, their efforts would only delay the inevitable.
"Kill!" the general roared. Wearing white armor, he wielded a shield and hammer, charging head-on toward the immortal wolf.
His hammer distorted space itself as it swung with devastating force.
The wolf's massive eyes glinted with surprise. It hadn't expected a mere skirmish to lead it into combat with a world master general.
Still, it sneered internally. A world master is still just a world master.
With terrifying ease, the wolf raised a front paw, invoking the origin laws that permeated all things, and brought it down to intercept the hammer.
BOOM!
When paw met hammer, space cracked apart into thousands of jagged tears. The collision sent the general flying backward, blood spraying across the stars.
"Captain!" the remaining four masters shouted, launching a flurry of ultimate techniques to stall the wolf's advance.
…
Beep! "Master, we've received a distress signal—two billion kilometers away."
Caspian's eyes gleamed as he read the incoming message: Demon immortal god detected.
"Change course. Accelerate to that battlefield immediately," he ordered.
"Yes, Master!"
The spacecraft adjusted its trajectory, pushing toward the coordinates at maximum speed.
