Chapter 64 - CHAPTER SIXTY-THREE

Thalia was about to run when someone quickly grabbed her wrist. Her heart was pounding with fear as she followed the shadow of the person she had seen earlier. They arrived at a hut she had designated as a secure location on her map.

She thought it was her last breath because she felt a sharp object on her neck and a gun was pointed at her when she escaped this time.

"Wait, don't be afraid." A strange man, who knew her name, spoke to her.

The sounds they heard suddenly startled them, and the man she didn't know immediately pulled her. He covered her mouth to stop her from making noise and to keep them hidden from discovery.

The man only observed the surroundings; he also watched for anyone who might appear in their line of sight. With the help of the flashlight, he immediately recognized it.

It was alone; it wanted to resist and ask Vince for help back then.

"Thank you, God." That's all she heard. Once she was free, Thalia hurried over to where Vince was.

Thalia quickly illuminated Vince and saw him about to grab the hidden gun.

"Brother." She immediately called out and quickly hid behind him like a child. The strange man came out, and she noticed that he also calmed down when he saw Vince.

"William." Vince introduced himself to the stranger who almost killed her. Her cousin looked back at her; his eyes were questioning.

"Let's go into the hut; no one is following us anyway." Her cousin said this while looking at the dark, dense forest.

She noticed that there was a secret passage leading to a basement.

Is this like when we hid while Sir Jake was looking for us? She wondered to herself while just following the two men.

Thalia noticed that the surroundings were bright, and she saw a young woman of her age who greeted them now.

"Why haven't you all gone to sleep yet?" Vince asked the young women who were there, and a man in his mid-thirties also greeted them. Thalia estimated that he was in his mid-30s.

The man even signaled the young women to go to the room and let them talk.

The man watched her closely; she didn't feel comfortable, so she stepped back behind Vince.

"Did you save her before?" he asked.

Saved? She had been staring at a man who had been with her earlier.

William, whose name had come up, shook his head.

"Actually, I tried to kill her."

Vince noticed the change in expression as he was just listening. "What do you mean by that, William?" he asked.

"Allow me to explain first, okay? After our conversation, I decided to wander around for a bit until I noticed someone watching me, which is why we ended up here, and thank God, I saw that it was Thalia who was watching earlier. Look, I didn't mean to do that."

"Thalia?" asked a man.

She was just listening to the conversation then; she was getting confused by the flow of events.

"Alpha's brother." Vince even said.

Thalia furrowed her brow, noticing that he was being careful with his words now.

Is it my older brother, Felix, they are referring to? Her mind then asked.

The man who was staring at her simply nodded.

"I understand; this is the task that Alpha instructed me to perform in the event of an emergency."

Vince nodded in agreement.

She found her voice. "Is my brother with you here?" she asked, confused.

"Yes," Vince answered immediately.

"Does Thalia know about your job?" William asked.

"Yeah, why did I keep it secret? If only I knew what was running through that woman's mind! I'm aware that the siblings are upsetting her, so she ended up here to look into what's going on right now."

"I understand; she also possesses a gift." Immediately, the man agreed.

"Gifted one? Oh, Thalia, I'm done waffling around. You know Jasmin and Ericka, right?" asked a man named William.

She immediately stared at William's face and felt unsure of how to respond. "Yes, I know both of them, because Jasmin was the one who died and sacrificed for us back then," she replied.

"I know why Jasmin was killed, and I see in the future that they will come after us, her companions; that's why I avoid seeing the two of them." Thalia admits to them.

Since she had just arrived at this location, she realized that the three of them would be in danger if they encountered each other.

"You can't avoid that, Thalia. I've repeatedly reminded you that you cannot thwart your destiny." Her cousin just sighed.

"What is the reason for your downfall?" William asked her, deep in thought.

"Someone is monitoring Chesca's movements; I can see that it didn't come from the organization you belong to; Chesca's father is the one monitoring the movements of the siblings and also Mikaela." She exclaimed.

Thalia is also scared of what will happen with Mikaela's return to the mansion. She envisions herself and her sister Jenny in a dark room, both with their hands tied. Not only the two of them, but also Chesca and Ericka are present.

"You can already see what is going to happen, and it is very precise, correct? You're avoiding seeing them, Thalia?" Vince asked her.

"I'm just doing my part, because if we get caught and escape, I know the ins and outs here that might save us, and there I will find what our cousin, Fernan, is looking for."

She noticed Vince smile at her and then ruffle her hair.

"Does your brother know about this?" Her cousin asked.

"I don't need to tell him anymore, because I know he has something planned." Thalia added.

"You really know your sibling's moves." Vince even chuckled softly.

"You really need to know the ins and outs here before the three of you cross paths and before Mikaela goes to the mansion. If William catches you right away, you still don't know enough about this place, Thalia."

She didn't speak then; she also knew what her cousin was planning.

Why does the blood of the Blancos and Tejeros run through us? She found herself questioning it again in her mind.
