Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Girl Who Would Be Knight.

Coming out of the red building is a young girl with long brown hair, tan skin, and bright brown eyes, her satchel slung over her shoulder. With a smile on her face, she walks into town, walking with happiness as her brown flats slap against the beige concrete ground. Her long red skirt sways with every happy step.

Straight ahead of her line of sight is a bustling market. A bunch of humans and humanoid animals are crowding most of the stalls.

"Whoa. Must be a busy event going on or something. Is it for a royal banquet or what?"- the girl.

She walks over to the outside market under the pink canopy, where they sell macarons.

A pig woman in a pink dress and a tall chef's hat greets her with a bow.

"Good morning, Opal! What can I do for you today, dear?"- woman.

"Hi, Miss Smith! I'd like to buy some macarons! For my pal, the prince!"- Opal, happy.

"Hahaha! Typical of you! You always did like to spoil His Highness! Very well then! How many, dear!"- Miss Smith.

"Maybe a bag full of five macarons."- Opal.

"You got it! Coming right up!"- Miss Smith.

After getting the macarons, Opal heads straight for the castle, located in the north of the city. She walks through a concrete rainbow bridge to reach the gate guarded by a man named Tig. He's a humanoid Tiger in a knight's outfit. The bridge was about ten meters away, within walking distance.

"Hey, is Prince Breeze Home?" - Opal.

"Yes, Opal. You'd think His Highness would go anywhere this morning?"- Tig.

"Well, he does love getting out of the castle in the morning. Anyway, let a lady in, would you, Tig?"- Opal, winking.

"Very well."- Tig.

The giant wooden doors of the castle open. Opal walks right through the doors.

Elma greets Opal with a curtsy as she is just passing through the entrance.

Elma and Opal head to the beautiful castle garden, where Breeze is making a flower crown. Flame is resting on his lap. Opal skips over to the two.

"Hey, Breeze!"- Opal

Breeze felt his heart racing as soon as he heard Opal's voice from nowhere.

"Oh! Good morning, Opal! Sorry, I startle easily."

"Don't worry about it. Take a look at what I got for you!" - Opal, bending down and offering Breeze the yellow macaron.

"Oh, thank you, Opal! It looks yummy!"- Breeze.

The prince gently takes the macaron from her and takes a soft bite. Experiencing the taste, Breeze puts his hand to his left cheek. His eyes sparkle.

"This is sooooo good!"- Breeze.

"Glad you like it."- Opal, softly chuckling.

"Sorry if this is selfish of me to ask, but could I possibly take the whole bag? I'd like to share macarons with the castle."- Breeze, poking fingers.

"That's sweet of you. But I didn't buy that many."- Opal.

"Aww. That's okay. I'll still share them with Flame. And of course you as well, Opal!" - Breeze, smiling at her.

"Breeze, you know I don't have a sweet tooth. Just give some to Flame."- Opal, softly chuckling.

"If you say so. But I still want to thank you somehow."- Breeze.

"Hmmm. Well, you could thank me by taking me on a flight sometime." - Opal.

"That's a great idea!" - Breeze.

Flame wakes up and sees a bag of macarons. He licks through his lips and immediately charges at Opal, knocking her over, and sticks his head into the bag.

"Ouch! Argh!"- Opal, who just landed on her bottom.

She gets up, dusts herself off, and marches to the gluttonous dragon with a sharp frown and hands on her hips.

"Watch it, salamander! If you were that hungry, you could've waited!"

After Flame swallows the rest of the macarons, he sticks his tongue at the angry Opal.

"Why, you little-" Opal, angrily raising her fist.

"Please, you two! Stop! We're all friends here!"- Breeze, softly pleading.

"Tell that to him! He started it!"- Opal, pointing at Flame.

The dragon gives a harsh growl in response.

"Please, you two… I can't keep witnessing this feud. You need to be kind to each other."- Breeze, sighing.

Tig rushes into the courtyard.

"Oh, good morning, Tig! You seem troubled."- Breeze, looking concerned.

"Your Highness! A band of you-know-who is coming for you! Your mother, the queen, has already been well informed. But we must act fast."- Tig.

"Whoa! Tig, slow down! What are you talking about?"- Opal.

"The Nega Tribe is targeting Prince Breeze. They are already on their way to the castle. A messenger has just informed me of their arrival."- Tig.

This makes Breeze's stomach drop, with his hands covering his mouth and his eyes widening. Opal clenches her fist.

"B-but how? Flame destroyed their airship!"- Breeze.

"If they survived that, those creeps are even more resilient than we thought!"- Opal, clenching her fist.

"I should've anticipated that. Now Jestica may be in danger because of me."- Breeze, looking down with tears forming in his eyes.

"(putting her hand on her shoulder) Breeze, don't say that. Even you couldn't have seen this coming." - Opal.

Flame rubs his head against Breeze's waist. Breeze looks at him and smiles. He pets him on the head.

"Thank you, Flame."- Breeze, softly.

Flame smiles. But he lowers his head growls angrily at the fact that the Nega Tribe survive. He attempts to fly upward, but is stopped.

"Flame, do not approach them! They could kill you!"- Tig, grabbing one of his arms.

The dragon growls and looks at him.

"Hey, Tig! Do you have a weapon to spare?" - Opal.

"You can't be serious."- Tig.

"Deadly. I always wanted to fight. And besides, I made a promise to Breeze that one day, I'll be his knight."- Opal, clasping her fist.

"Then stay with him. You don't even have any battle experience or the skills to become a knight yet. Just take the Prince somewhere safe and keep him hidden before the Tribe arrives."- Tig.

"Well, that I can do. As much as I like to have a brawl with Nega Tribe."- Opal.

"Flame, keep them out of harm's way."- Tig.

The dragon was unhappy at first, but he nodded at Tig. And flies back inside first. Opal takes Breeze's hand, and they follow Flame inside.

As they head inside, they make for the stairs. They jump on Flame and fly to the highest floor, where the big red door is underneath the symbol of a plus shape with wings.
