Chapter 4 - Brutishness

The boys started running around the playground. Okami asked in a low voice, "This boy is their captain?"

Kuvira replied, "Yes, that's Sami. He's the captain of this team and a good player, I think."

Okami muttered, "I can assume there are no trainers here. This kid is actually leading the training." Kuvira quickly replied, "And that's the problem. I told you before, we're self-sufficient... The government provided us with this place as a facility with workers and such, but they didn't provide us with professional coaches or anyone to supervise us, so that's our problem."

Hmm, that's a problem indeed. They can't achieve anything as long as they lack the guidance or experience, which their competitors likely already have. Okami thought.

"I think it's good that you're well aware of your problem, but why didn't the government give you coaches as well as an amazing place like this?" Okami wondered.

Kuvira sighed, "You know very well that this small town is considered a rural town, so first of all, not many people want to work in the countryside, and secondly, this place has a bad history with coaches."

"There is one volleyball coach though and she is trying to help, but I can conclude that she is bad given the results of the team under her charge," Kuvira added.

Okami paused for a moment, then replied, "I'd like to meet her soon if possible, because there are some things I'd like to discuss with her."

"You lovebird, I told you the problem, man! What else do you want?!" Kuvira said sarcastically.

Okami snarled, "You idiot, what are you thinking while we're in the middle of trying to solve your problem? She's a trainer first and foremost, whether you like it or not. Secondly, she's older than you and has more experience, whether you like it or not, so she definitely has a different point of view and can help in some way." He rolled his eyes at her.

Kuvira looked surprised when she saw Okami's almost angry reaction and took the initiative to justify what she said, "I apologize. I didn't mean it like that. I just didn't understand what you wanted exactly." She looked at the ground. Okami frowned, "Don't look at the ground and don't apologize. There's no need to because I didn't tell you this to get an apology or anything like that. I was just clarifying things." He handed her a bottle of water, "Drink this while we watch. We've walked a long way to get here."

Kuvira took the water bottle and stood up from her seat. "I'm going to go talk to the volleyball team over there and find out what they asked me to do. Would you accept this as an apology?" Kuvira asked. "Don't be an idiot. I told you there's no need to apologize, but just please go to them and ask them anything you can." Okami sighed.

Don't live your life recklessly, girl... Anyway, those boys have stopped running, but they've only run five or six laps. Isn't that a bit low? Their fitness must not be the best.

Okami noticed that the team had taken a quick break, which made him wonder more about the physical condition of these players.

Okami's thoughts were interrupted when Sami shouted, "Now that our bodies are warmed up from running, we will divide into two teams. Each team will consist of six people, as usual, and we will play the usual training match."

Okami had a look of disapproval on his face and thought: Of course these brats wouldn't think of playing a practice match without real training. What the hell is this nonsense?

Did Kuvira bring me here to witness this nonsense... They don't even practice the basics!! Are they that capable or are they just pretending to be stupid in front of me... Anyway, I'll wait until she gets back.

Kuvira returned with a smile on her face. "I have good news. I got her number for you… She won't be coming today, but I will talk to her. I have a superficial relationship with her, so I will talk to her and set things up for you. Is that okay?" Okami replied. "Yes, that's good, but may I ask a question?" Kuvira was surprised. "Yes, of course." "Were you joking when you said you were good players, or were you telling me the truth?" Okami said firmly. "Of course I wasn't joking," Kuvira replied. "At least they're good to me."

Okami said, "Okay, I'll be honest with you. These guys didn't practice anything and just started a practice match without any actual training. If this is their daily training pattern, then you guys are in real trouble."

Kuvira was confused and gathered her words, "Well... yes, I won't lie. This is how we trained, and we don't know anything else. That's exactly why I was happy to find someone like you who has some experience."

Okami said, "This Sami won't accept advice easily. He and his friends seem difficult to deal with, but I have an idea and you will help me with it. Do you have the nerve to help?"

Kuvira laughed. "Of course I'll help, but tell me the details."

Okami replied. "Are you willing to share in humiliating your friends with me?!"

Kuvira shouted, "What?!"
