Chapter 3 - Ice Queen

At the last moment possible, her mind became sure. She could not in fact handle seeing the demon. The sloth, she decided, is not an active player. The sloth will do what it always has and follow the demon, but the demon will do wicked twisted things indeed.

She felt it become too much, her chest tightened, her palms sweat. Her eternal protector saw this, he pulled his full body behind her in defense of her weakest spot. Allowing her to know he would not let her fall.

The diamond stares into the eternal protectors eyes, vaguely whispering that she wishes to leave. And just as the last word has slipped from her tongue, an eerie cold swept among the guests. White snow, floating through the crowd, a mist descending on chairs, putting out the candles here and there. The room slowly descending into a darkness and glowing blues.

Her eternal protector grabs the diamond and thrusts her behind him, now protecting her front from a new threat, a piercing one. However he is put to sleep by the mist, his body falls limp in front of the princess, and she stands there in awe watching the wedding fall into a ruin-ness day.

'This must be the queen of ice' the diamond concludes, so she unsheathes the eternal protectors dagger, but to think better she hides it in her dress.

'It's always best to give benefit of the doubt before attacking.'

'And that, my benevolent princess, is what will kill you one day. That thought will be the end of you. Never underestimate your villain, never give thy enemy a path to your righteousness. They will always take that road, and slaughter your most cherished.'

The memory plays in the princesses mind as she hides the dagger. Her trusted advisor, who is always as blunt as a dulled blade, has great counsel. However, the princess enjoys a more open approach. She enjoys giving chances, once that chance is stripped away, she shares that same sentiment. She tears, shreds, devours them.

She is one of the most forgiving, and cunning of the righteous. The day she proves to be a queen, will truly be a formidable day for her foes. Until then, her foes will continue to underestimate her powers, her heart, and her beautifully cunning mind.

Further more, they will overlook her forgiving nature, her need for justice, they will betray her overly trusting presence. All to bring her down, hoping to put her in the depths of sorrow, hatred and overall, one of them.

The Ice Queen struts into the room, her face contorted into a uncomfortable perfection. She tries so very hard to seem professional, polite, and regal. Always pretending, the Ice Queen has wanted to be of the righteous for millennia. She has somehow, someway, always managed to ruin her chances of the righteous on her own.

You see, what she sees as true is skewed, her vision blurred by the ice covering her perception.

The Ice Queen smiles at the Diamond. A fake display, and for whom? Everyone at the wedding is now asleep. The Diamond knows better than to be anything besides true and honest. It is against her nature to be a liar. The Diamond instead gives her a slight bow out of respect, and hope for the Ice Queen to change the trajectory of this event.

The Ice Queen looks at the Diamonds feet, staring at the eternal protector. She meets the Diamonds eyes once again, biting the inside of her cheek, a nervous twitch, and a purposeful display of indifference.

"I want him, and you are giving him to me. There will be nothing you may do. The only way you may have him back, is to convince him that coming back to you is in fact a good plan."

The Diamond was not expecting this. Her eternal protector, unconscious. In the only moment where he cannot protect her, for once it immediately involves him, and his unconscious body being stolen. Now it is her turn to protect him with her life, and yet she knows better. If he were to awaken, with her dead, or in the throngs of the Ice Queen he would be worse than disappointed.

The Diamond knows the Ice Queens ways, if she does not accept, the Queen will torture, defile and ruin everything in her path. As much as the Diamond would love to see the demon and his sloth torn to pieces, never to exist again, she cannot allow it to happen to an entire wedding.

So hesitantly, she agrees.

Her eternal protector will be manipulated indeed. His mind is strong though, and sharp still. She will get him through the Ice Queens haze, she will find him, and she will win.
