Chapter 2 - The Demon and his Sloth

The diamond entered the wedding ball of her kin, knowing full well that the cunning Demon, and his sloth would be in attendance.

The very beings she despised, the very beings in which she had trusted not too long in the past.

A fresh memory floated through her mind as she walked around many of the unrighteous.

The day of the happening, where the cunning demon had shown his true colors to her. That day had been before her eternal protector was thrust upon her. It was not believed that she was in need of a protector yet, however wrong they were.

The cunning demon tried to seduce the diamond, tried to take her as his own, with his mischief and beguiling mouth.

The diamond was too clever though, she saw his advances as slime, utter evil, she was utterly repulsed.

She thought the sloth might help her, might hear her, but the sloth was blinded by the demons many ways of tricking the mind.

The diamond was pulled out of the memory with one last thought 'if only people would look for a moment, they would see the demon as what his true form is'.

Therefore she had hoped, like she always does, that one day these people would see him too.

The unrighteous, squabbled at the tables dressed in fine white silks, and stood on the marble floors creating dynamics in which she could not yet see the demon, nor his sloth.

All she hoped for was to avoid them, to never have to lay her eyes upon them again. she would not be here had it not been detrimental to her kingdom that she attend.

To keep her home protected, she has to go out amongst her kin, and unrighteous alike, to prevent the disaster from coming to her gates.

She looked beside her as the eternal protector made his presence known with a flick of his tongue against the roof of his mouth.

A face of displeasure, wrinkling his nose as if they all smelled.

"We should not be here your majesty, they all reek" ever the truthful.

However she did not falter "I believe we do, if we had not come, they surely would come to ours in time. And that is a danger I cannot have."

The warrior offered his hand, the diamond accepted. Being her left hand man tonight, he swore to be on good behavior, as the diamond had wished.

He carried no armor upon his large frame, nor a sword in a shealth. All that was equipped was his single dagger in which ran from in between his shoulders down to the lower of his back, concealed. It was a long dagger indeed.

He was her eternal protector after all, he could not come unsheathed in all aspects, it went against his nature.

"You know with whom I do not wish to speak, so let us be wary of their presence. Upon seeing them you shall inform me immediately"

He gave her a nod as they descended further into the room. Looks were thrown at them, looks of distaste, stares of lust hidden underneath baggy eyes and concealed as keen smiles.

Smart compliments bounced from the unrighteous mouths.

The sanity of the diamond was already being put to test, could she withstand the comments, the sneers, the judgement? But most of all, could she handle seeing the cunning demon and his sloth?
