Ding.
"Congratulations, you have obtained the Rinnegan." The system's voice announced.
"Rinnegan?" Tengen froze, then erupted in elation. He hadn't expected to gain such a power.
The Rinnegan was among the most supreme eyes in the Naruto world.
Perhaps only the Tenseigan, the Byakugan's ultimate evolution, could compare.
Tengen knew who currently possessed the Rinnegan: Nagato, a pawn of Uchiha Madara, implanted with those eyes.
But as a transplant recipient, Nagato couldn't unleash the Rinnegan's full potential.
Only in Madara, who awakened it, did the Rinnegan shine with true power.
Had Tengen not acquired the Rinnegan, his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan and Senju Sage Body might have eventually evolved it, as the Rinnegan stemmed from their fusion.
How long that would take, however, was uncertain.
Uchiha Madara, wielding both powers, only awakened the Rinnegan in old age. Tengen had no desire to wait that long.
With his full potential, Tengen was confident he'd awaken it within a decade.
But now, the player had granted him the Rinnegan directly, a perfect version, beyond what he could have evolved himself.
"System, absorbing the Rinnegan won't erase my Sharingan's powers, right?" Tengen confirmed.
"Yes, host. The Mangekyō Sharingan's powers will be perfectly preserved, resulting in a flawless Rinnegan." The system replied.
"Good. Begin the absorption." Tengen ordered.
A wisp of black mist materialized before him, slowly seeping into his pupils. His eyes instinctively activated the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.
Blood-red irises with intricate patterns swirled, the black mist cooling his pupils as their power surged.
Tengen felt his Senju Sage Body harmonizing perfectly with his eyes.
Concentric black rings emerged in his pupils.
As the mist dissipated, Tengen closed his eyes.
Moments later, he opened them, revealing a pair of enigmatic eyes: eight circles linked by semicircles, flame-like patterns radiating outward, now encircled by rippling black rings.
Mysterious, otherworldly.
This was no longer just the Eternal Mangekyō.
It was the perfect Rinnegan, fused with its predecessor.
"I can feel the Rinnegan's power clearly." Tengen said, gazing at his hands. Its abilities and applications flooded his mind.
"Universal Pull." Tengen reached toward an object, and a powerful gravitational force drew it into his hand.
He set it on the table and stood.
"Limbus Prison." Shadows appeared around him, invisible to others, a power of the Rinnegan.
These shadows existed in another dimension.
Only a Rinnegan wielder could perceive them, and they mirrored Tengen's full strength.
Such was the might of this technique.
"The Rinnegan also deepens my understanding of space." Tengen said, eyes gleaming. His Eternal Mangekyō had already given him a rudimentary grasp of space, enabling mastery of the Flying Thunder God Technique.
Now, the Rinnegan amplified that ability, allowing spatial manipulation without markers, relying solely on his perception.
"Like this." Tengen's Rinnegan shifted, sensing a familiar presence far away.
Whoosh. His figure vanished.
In the Land of Rivers, amidst towering skyscrapers, the organization called Yuan thrived.
On a top floor, Kakuzu reveled in his wealth. Though war ravaged the ninja world, their business, essential to daily life, remained largely unaffected.
Kakuzu had heard of Tengen's terrifying feats on the battlefield, and he sighed in relief.
Thankfully, he hadn't crossed Tengen back then.
How else could he enjoy such luxury?
Money flowed endlessly, and he didn't even need to lift a finger.
This was the peak of happiness.
Suddenly, the space before Kakuzu warped, and a figure appeared.
"Who's there?" Kakuzu's expression shifted. He knew of space-time ninjutsu, but who could wield it so seamlessly? Even Tengen relied on Flying Thunder God markers.
"Tengen." Kakuzu realized he bore one of those markers, and the figure was unmistakable.
"Kakuzu." Tengen said, nodding.
"It's you. I thought it was an enemy." Kakuzu said, relieved. Who else could wield such advanced space-time ninjutsu?
He'd have been defenseless.
"Kakuzu, you're doing well." Tengen said, gazing out the window.
"But Kakuzu, it's time to act on our earlier discussion." Tengen added.
"Really?" Kakuzu's face lit with surprise.
"Of course." Tengen confirmed.
"Then I'm looking forward to it." Kakuzu said, excitement in his voice.
"I'll be going now." Tengen said, stepping forward and vanishing.
"Wait." Kakuzu froze, realization dawning. What were Tengen's eyes just now?
Was that the Mangekyō Sharingan?
