Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 — The World Behind His Eyes

Rain continued through the night.

The large mansion stood silent under the dark Seoul sky while security guards moved carefully around the property. Inside his office, Aryan stared at the city lights through the glass wall.

Someone had contacted Nithya directly.

That alone was enough to anger him.

Rohan stood near the desk.

"We increased security around the university," he reported. "No suspicious movement yet."

Aryan's expression remained cold.

"That call was not random."

"We know, sir."

Aryan finally turned around slowly.

"They were testing boundaries."

Rohan understood immediately.

Someone wanted to see how Eagle would react if his wife was involved.

That was a dangerous game.

Because Aryan never showed mercy when it came to protecting what belonged to him.

The next morning, Nithya woke earlier than usual.

For a few seconds, she simply stared at the ceiling.

The warning call still echoed in her mind.

Leave Korea before you become part of his war.

Instead of fear, the words only increased her curiosity.

Nithya had spent years secretly controlling dangerous people and situations as Devil. She knew how power worked.

And Aryan clearly carried too much power for a simple businessman.

After getting ready, she walked downstairs.

Aryan was already there, speaking to someone on a video call in fluent Korean.

Several men on the screen looked nervous while he spoke calmly.

"No delays," Aryan said. "I want results by tonight."

The men immediately agreed.

Nithya quietly sat across from him and watched.

Even through a screen, people feared him.

Interesting.

Aryan ended the call and looked at her.

"You're thinking too much."

Nithya raised an eyebrow.

"You can tell?"

"You get quieter when you analyze something."

That surprised her slightly.

He noticed details very quickly.

"I'm trying to understand you," she admitted calmly.

Aryan picked up his coffee.

"That sounds dangerous."

"For you or me?"

"For anyone."

During the drive to university, the atmosphere inside the car remained calm.

But outside, security had doubled exactly like Aryan promised.

More guards.

More vehicles.

More eyes watching every corner.

Nithya finally sighed.

"You know this is not normal, right?"

Aryan looked at her briefly.

"My world is not normal."

That answer felt honest.

Too honest.

At the university, students immediately noticed the increased security.

Whispers spread through the campus again.

"Did something happen?"

"Why does she have so many guards?"

"Who exactly is her husband?"

Nithya ignored everyone and entered class.

Today's lecture focused on corporate power structures and hidden leadership strategies.

The professor smiled while explaining.

"Sometimes the real leader of an organization stays invisible. Publicly, someone else appears in control."

Nithya listened carefully.

Hidden leadership.

Hidden power.

Her mind immediately connected the concept to Aryan.

Was he hiding behind his business empire?

After class, Ji-Hoon approached her again.

"You seem distracted today," he said kindly.

"Just tired."

He hesitated before speaking again.

"People are talking about your husband."

Nithya looked at him calmly.

"They always talk."

Ji-Hoon lowered his voice slightly.

"They say dangerous people follow him."

For one second, Devil inside her became alert.

"What kind of dangerous people?"

"I don't know," Ji-Hoon admitted. "But yesterday some men came asking questions about him."

Nithya's eyes sharpened slightly.

Questions.

Someone was investigating Aryan openly now.

That meant the underground world was moving.

Meanwhile, inside a private underground meeting hall far from the city, several mafia leaders sat around a large table.

Photos of Aryan and Nithya were spread before them.

One older man spoke carefully.

"Eagle's marriage changed things."

Another nodded.

"He is becoming emotionally involved."

"That makes him vulnerable."

A third man laughed quietly.

"Then we use the girl."

The room suddenly became silent.

Because another man at the table immediately shook his head.

"No."

Everyone looked at him.

"You don't touch what belongs to Eagle unless you want a war."

Fear crossed several faces.

Even powerful mafia leaders respected Eagle's brutality.

Back at the mansion that evening, Nithya entered Aryan's office without knocking.

Aryan looked up from his documents.

"You walked in confidently."

Nithya crossed her arms.

"You hide too many things."

Aryan leaned back slightly.

"And you ask too many questions."

"Because nothing about you feels normal."

Silence filled the room.

Then Nithya stepped closer.

"You have private armies."

"You move like someone trained for war."

"People fear your name."

"And now strangers are warning me about your enemies."

Her eyes locked onto his.

"So tell me honestly, Aryan."

"What exactly are you hiding?"

For a moment, the room felt dangerously quiet.

Aryan slowly stood up.

His tall figure moved closer until only a small distance remained between them.

Nithya didn't step back.

She never stepped back from power.

Aryan's dark eyes held hers steadily.

Then he spoke softly.

"If I tell you the truth…"

His voice became colder.

"…your life will never be peaceful again."

Nithya's heartbeat slowed instead of rising.

Because somehow, deep inside, Devil already knew that.

And maybe…

She was not afraid of his darkness because she carried her own.
