Unlike what Claude thought would happen, Len left him with Eugene in Hatter's Town. The Alpha also had Sean sent here with them. However, Claude only needed to take two looks at Sean to find an answer. Even if no one mentioned it, Claude could see Sean's pain in his eyes.
Just because they didn't say anything to Claude didn't mean they said nothing to Sean.
