Thinking of this, Kadela's gaze became more determined.

Kadela's eyes never left Rowena's face; even the slightest hesitation, the briefest fear could not escape his insight, yet... the mortal's face revealed a mad smile. This smile made him very uncomfortable, as if in this enclosed circular space, he was the one being dominated.
When he approached, he finally sensed something heart-palpitating.
The shadow spread behind Rowena, the writhing darkness polluting the place like a plague, corroding the treasures that rightfully belonged to him.

He hoped this would intimidate Rowena, at least enough to make her show a flaw.
