Chapter 20 - Chapter 20 Relic Stone Slab (Seek to follow and read!)

"Half?"

Upon hearing this, Kana couldn't help but retrieve from his mind the information he once knew about this quest chain.

It's been a long time, but since it was the first player-triggered quest related to the Stone of Creation, some memories remained very clear.

This is a unique quest.

After completing all the side quests for the "Blue Spot" Fishman Tribe, gaining a certain level of favor, and having the secondary profession of Archaeologist,

one can obtain half of the stone slab from the tribe's leader, namely the Fishman Prophet.

When receiving the slab, the Fishman Prophet would tell some stories.

An Archaeologist can extract clues from the stories.

The clues point to the area where Blood Cry Town is located.

The difficulty of this quest at the time lay in obtaining the slab and reaching Blood Cry Town to find the relic.

In the first few months after the server opened, Blood Cry Town was recommended for levels 4~5.

The quest was triggered just one month after the server opened.

But in any case, the quest was completed.

The player team that took the quest found the entrance to the relic below the riverbank.

Through a certain operation, they opened a stone door.

Inside, they obtained equipment and items.

Among them was a [Creation Stone Fragment (Small)]

In the past game, Kana also knew the captain of the team that triggered the quest, who was that Archaeologist.

Both of them were considered players who loved to dig deep into plots and backstories, and various settings.

They had talked about this quest at the time.

According to what he said, he speculated that the relic still had another half, but he just didn't know how to proceed without the key item.

Initially, when they got half of the stone slab, they thought the quest was to find the other half, because that made more sense logically since they only got half.

As a result, they didn't find the slab, but instead discovered the relic, and with just half of the slab, they could open the relic.

Since they opened it, and the quest was completed, there was nothing else they could do.

The other half of the slab and the half of the relic that couldn't be opened did indeed exist.

This is all he knew.

In other words, the other half of the relic, which couldn't be opened at the time, is now accessible with the other half of the stone slab.

"What do you need me to do?" Since the Fishman Elder said so, they obviously wanted his help.

"Over there, in the woods on that side, there are sharp-eared large rats.

They have been harassing us, stealing our eggs, and stole the other half slab previously."

The Fishman Elder pointed in a direction and said.

The nearby fishmen began to jabber in anger.

"If you can drive them away or teach them a lesson,

the slab will be yours, and you might also get the other half from them."

Having said this, the Fishman Prophet directly shoved the slab into Kana's hands.

Huh? Reward upfront?

Holding the slab in his arms, Kana was momentarily confused.

Looking at the Fishman Prophet with those slanted eyes that didn't seem particularly intelligent. It was almost as if he was saying: Hurry up, why are you standing there?

"Ahem, can you tell me where you got this slab from?"

Upon hearing this, the Fishman Prophet directly pointed with his Coral Staff to the distant riverbank.

"Underwater over there, there's a cave beneath the water.

Shall I take you there, human friend?"

Kana shook his head, "No need for now, thank you."

He took the slab and handed it directly to Alyris behind him, asking her to hold it.

Kana seriously looked at the Fishman Prophet in front of him and asked, "Prophet, you should be able to see, right? Darkness is spreading, you should lead your tribe away from here."

The Prophet looked at Kana with his big slanted eyes, "Human friend, I have already seen that. We are already preparing to leave. You should leave here soon too."

"Then why did you ask me to clear out those rats?"

"Because they are annoying, and you need the other half."

Kana nodded slightly, thinking deeply.

"Then we shall take our leave for now, and we will return later."

Saying this, Kana turned around and led the others away from there.

Just after leaving,

Alyris couldn't wait to ask, "Why can that Fishman talk?"

Blake and the others also turned their ears to listen.

"Because he is a Fishman Prophet. You can think of him as a Mage; if he wasn't smart, he couldn't be a Mage."

"Mage?" Alyris was a bit puzzled and pondered for a moment before asking, "Are they the ones who do tricks in stories?"

Upon hearing this, Kana paused and turned to look at them.

Not only Alyris, but even Blake also showed some confusion in his eyes.

Obviously, they didn't have a specific concept of what a Mage was.

Kana smacked his head; he almost forgot that this country was both free and exclusive.

The flow of Magic Power in this country's territory was quite barren; not to mention Mages, there were hardly any magical creatures related to power.

Plus, with the Royal Capital's exclusionary policies against external forces, no Mage would want to come to this damned place.

As for the Fishman Prophet, no matter how smart he was, he had no real concept of Magic Power flow.

He would only know that Fishmen were quite safe in this area, as there were few dangerous creatures in the water, and that was enough.

Almost all Magic Power barren zones in this world can be considered caused by some peculiar reason.

For example, in this country, it's undoubtedly the Royal Capital's fault again.

They have concentrated the magical power in the Royal Capital.

"You can just think of him as mixed blood; didn't you notice his appearance is different from the other Fishmen?

He is half Fishman and half magical frog."

"Magical frog?"

"A kind of monster, no need to understand in detail."

Kana was more concerned that this Fishman seemed to be, just as described in the background settings, truly capable of some sort of future foresight.

Oh well, this game has a lot of prophecies, and there are many prophet-like characters capable of predicting the future.

More attention should now be on the sharp-eared rats.

Turning to ask, "Blake, has there been any encounter with these sharp-eared rats in the town?"

Blake shook his head, "I haven't been back for a while, so I don't know the specifics of the situation."

Regarding the sharp-eared rats, Kana strongly suspected they were a race from the game.

Sharp-eared Rat People, a typically evil race.

Generally, they lurk around areas where intelligent beings gather, committing robbery, theft, and slaughter.

Since the Fishman Prophet said it's from not too long ago,

it shouldn't be more than a month or two, because if it were over one or two months, the Fishman would find it hard to remember.

If it were more than a month or two, the Fishman might consider it something long ago.

Suddenly, it became clear why there was no record of the other half slab.

Because at the time, the Fishman Prophet only had one half slab in his hand, and could only recall matters related to that half slab.

If Kana had come half a month later, perhaps he wouldn't have known about the other half slab.

"Then let's return to the town first and understand the situation."

Returning to where they came ashore, they took a fisherman's small boat back to the opposite bank and made their way back to the small town.

By the time they reached the town, the sun had already set.

After some thought, they decided to ask the mayor about the situation the next morning.

They returned to their residence.

"Your Highness, are you planning to explore that relic?"

When the two talked today, Alyris, Blake, and the others were all listening behind them.

The first time they heard the Fishman talk, they were listening very intently.

"Blake will definitely tell the Count about today's events. Won't that be a problem?"

Alyris was a bit worried.

She didn't know whether the Count was a good person or a bad person.

Kana shook his head with a smile, "Don't worry about it. The Count now has no interest in dealing with us, as long as we don't cause trouble or leak information. He'll act as if he hasn't seen anything."

Moreover, even if they took Blake and the others into the relic, there wouldn't be any problems.

Because they wouldn't be able to see the special nature of the Stone of Creation; to them, it might just be a gemstone.

The Stone of Creation has inherent abilities like anti-divination, anti-prophecy, anti-detection, and so on.

In the human body, unless you reach a certain extent or strength, you won't discover it.

And if it is revealed outside, it becomes even harder to detect.

Except for one kind of person, that is someone who has already used the Stone of Creation.

Apart from the Stone of Creation, the other valuable items remaining in the relic aren't actually that many.

Even if Blake reported it, the Count wouldn't care.
