Chapter 25 - Chapter 25 The Shadow Mouse Assassin

A few rats mustered up the courage, which led more rats to do the same.

The rats, wielding their broken knives, wooden spears, and rotten sticks, swarmed towards them.

Seeing this, Kana unhesitatingly cut his own forearm and loudly commanded:

"Blake, charge in and be ruthless."

Blake wanted to say something but looked at Alyris beside Kana, then nodded and charged out.

And the first rat to summon its courage had already been shot through the head by George's arrow.

The clever young hunter, George, seemed to have understood the weakness of these rats.

Blake swung his sword in a sweeping semicircle, directly slashing three rats, their flesh flying, sending them crashing back into the courageous rat horde.

This move, with its scattering corpses and blood, completely broke the courage that the rats had painstakingly gathered.

"Run! It's the Iron Humans! We can't beat them, run!"

"Boss, where's the boss?"

The panicked swarm of rats, having just gathered their courage, was immediately scattered.

They fled in all directions.

"Chase them! Don't let them getaway, or they'll return to the town to steal and rob again.

Hunt and kill them all!"

Kana's blunt and brutal words directly raised the group's morale.

All four soldiers and the hunter rushed out.

"Blake, you go too."

Blake, who was about to sheathe his weapon, could only nod: "Your will."

The camp soon became empty.

Except for that wooden cage hanging on a big tree nearby, inside which were a white rat and that little girl covering her mouth.

"Careful, big guy, that stinking rat hasn't run yet."

Could I not know? Otherwise, why would I send everyone else to chase?

Your shout just alerted him.

Kana, helpless but also reacting swiftly, instantly turned and raised his shield.

A dagger stabbed out from the air, heavily striking the shield.

The force on the shield made Kana take two steps back, but it blocked that lethal backstab.

Kana could clearly see the rat revealing itself, its eyes filled with disbelief.

It couldn't believe that its sneak attack as an assassin, striking the weaker one by surprise, had failed.

This weak human acted as if he had eyes on the back of his head.

The rat, convinced of a certain assassination success, was momentarily stunned.

In that moment of shock, it lost the chance to vanish again.

Beside him, Alyris angrily swung her sword. The rat tried to evade, but it was too late.

With a side step, it just barely avoided a fatal hit.

The sword slashed across its waist.

Black smoke spread.

The rat's figure vanished into thin air.

"The smell of blood," Kana reminded.

Alyris was already beginning to awaken the Blood Magic within her.

That sword had wounded the rat, and the scent of blood was enough for Alyris to lock onto its position.

She could not let the rat escape; otherwise, it would be an unforgettable shame for her.

As a Guardian Knight, almost letting Kana be assassinated was a disgrace. If the Prince hadn't been so skilled, when she reacted, there would have been only a corpse left.

A trace of crimson had already begun to spread in her pupils.

Alyris strode forward, the smell of blood in the air now seemingly visible, becoming trails for her to follow.

The tip of her sword thrust at a shadow beside a large tree.

"Clang!"

The rat's figure appeared in the shadow, two daggers crossed to block the blade.

Its invisibility was easily seen through.

Wait, I'm a distinguished assassin, mastering Shadow Magic and skilled at invisibility.

How can all of you so easily see through it? Are you all assassin counters?

Being a knight, Alyris was clearly much stronger than the rat.

Blocked from stabbing, her sword was pulled back to slash again, forcing the rat back a few steps.

Its long tail swung directly towards her, with a dagger tied to it.

The flexibility was no less than an arm.

This unexpected attack style left Alyris with only the option to raise her sword in defense.

Seizing this opportunity, the rat pulled something from its back and lobbed it over Alyris.

Seeing what was thrown at him, Kana's pupils shrank.

"Damn! An Alchemy Bomb!"

The assassin brought grenades, immediately raising his shield.

"Bang!"

The explosion rang out in the air.

Kana, holding his shield, was blown away, the sudden explosion at his back causing Alyris to fall forward.

"Ahhh," the young girl in the cage screamed.

Taking advantage of the moment, the rat leapt onto the nearby tree trunk, jumping towards where Kana had been blown away.

The recent events made it clear to him that Kana was the leader. To him, killing the leader was always right.

Humans always let the weak lead. Capturing the human leader might just allow him to escape.

Moreover, his assassination, which was supposed to have a 100% success rate, failed, and the enemy was clearly much weaker.

Even as a rat, this was too shameful for him.

This was the rat's simple, direct, and effective thought.

However, mid-air, the rat was suddenly pulled by something and was dragged to the ground.

"Blood?"

The rat looked at the wound where it had been slashed, where blood had come out and bound him, pulling him from the air to the ground.

Alyris had already risen from the ground, her eyes glowing with a blood-red gleam.

She clawed her left hand towards where the rat was, controlling the blood from its wound, dragging it towards her.

The rat tried desperately to get up, scrambling towards where Kana was. Alyris controlled its blood from behind, striding forward, relentlessly pursuing.

"Stop, or I'll kill him!"

The rat shouted as it raised its weapon towards where Kana was.

Kana was lying there.

The rat turned its dagger towards Alyris, its tail already placed on Kana, the dagger tied to it gleaming coldly.

"Take one more step, and I'll cut down."

He was truly afraid. His blood could be controlled; what kind of magic was this?

With such a spell, he felt these humans were more evil than his own Ratmen.

If he fell into their hands, it would surely be bad news, just thinking about it made him shiver, he had to escape at all costs.

Yet, as the rat was about to act, Kana suddenly reached out, grabbed its tail, and yanked it backward.

Completely unprepared, the rat was caught off guard.

Kana bent over and rose, sharply bashing its head with his shield, and rolled to his feet standing up.

Just halted, Alyris immediately jerked her left hand back, causing blood to gush from the rat's body, like strands of spider silk.

The crimson blood formed a net, floating in the air being pulled.

"Impossible!"

The rat couldn't believe it. Its alchemy bomb had exploded right in front of its enemy.

How could such weak humans still move freely after being blasted away?

Did he misjudge? Was this leader the most formidable?

And Kana looked at his blood volume.

[Life: 8/14]

Hmph, luckily I have superior skills, technically proficient.
