Jiang Zhe sorrowfully realized that he had been used as a pawn, and now he was nothing but a discarded piece.
Even more sorrowful was the fact that he had been ruthlessly abandoned, yet he had no idea by whom.
"Greed is the original sin of everything; I regret my actions deeply," Jiang Zhe realized the severity of the situation. He was deeply entangled in it, unable to extricate himself. The grave mistake was made, and now there's no turning back.
Looking at his colleagues, who were all trembling with fear, Jiang Zhe's face turned ashen.
"If something happens, I'll take the blame alone. It's none of your concern," Jiang Zhe said generously.
It wasn't out of magnanimity; the trouble was entirely his doing. Others couldn't bear the burden, and even if they were dragged into it, it wouldn't be realistic because his colleagues would most likely betray him.
Rather than taking unnecessary actions, it was better to be generous and leave a good impression on colleagues.
